What a way for the PS2 to bow out.

God Of War is a franchise that arrived too late for Sony. This is a game that could have been their mascot.

Never the less- I don't think anyone has any doubt over how great this game will be, it's just a matter of waiting now.

And Dear 'roxwell', that was a very dramatic speech :) But I believe with the expensive price of the PS3, Sony will deliver us at least another killer title on the PS2 after God Of War 2.

Can't believe the limit that PS2 has reached. Awesome.

PS2 is going out with a bang (but Sony plans to support it after the PS3 release unlike someone else....) with God of War II, Final Fantasy XII, Valkyrie Profile Silmeria, Rogue Galaxy, etc.

I hope this does well in UK, the fools didn't market it well in UK and noone even knew about it.

and yeah rogue galaxy is one of my top jrpgs!! awesome choice zaku!.. It's kinda strange..the dark chronicles creators dominated on best JRPGS for the ps2..beating squarenix..whereas for the ps1..it was definetly squarenix

Zaku, I don't know about Valkyrie Profile Silmeria and Rogue Galaxy but Final Fantasy XII is definitely being released BEFORE PlayStation 3's release with a launch date of October 2006. But yeah, PS2 is really showing that despite the credibility of all the radical comments Ken Kutaragi makes, he was right that Xbox 360 will still have to compete with PlayStation 2. It is certainly going out with a bang, as you say.

Within a six month time span, you're going to see the launches of Final Fantasy XII first and then God of War 2. And Shadow of the Colossus just went Greatest Hits. Can anyone really ask for more?

Actually, looking at Gamespot, Valkyrie Profile Silmeria is set for September and Rogue Galaxy is set for October.
