that shiny-ness is typical UE3 stuff, but still it seems they put quite some work into the backgrounds and characters, I'll watch out for trailers and so on

it's an aging engine, people are bound to complain about it, but especially in this case, it REALLY looks like UE3. this is like that game damnation. where it looks like the devs didnt even bother tweaking the engine, or making their own textures, but instead desided to use vanilla UE3. and it's when it's vanilla old UE3 that i have an issue with it. devs have proven they can do good things with it. but sadly most, this included, dont even try. and hence my complaints

Its a bleeding action-RPG worry about the gameplay and stat-building features first and UE3 graphics last.

what does that even mean? shimmery textures? textures don't shimmer. that would if anything be the shaders or lighting. maybe overblown specular maps. anyways, this game is looking pretty good, especially considering how dated the engine is. way better than fallout new vegas that's fo sho. edit: apparently the reply system didn't work for me... or i didn't work for the reply system. oh i get it you have to quote, not reply? that's weird. anyways forget this last bit.

yeah, becasue i can easily judge those gameplay elements looking at a small selection of screenshots *rolls eyes*

Most Unreal Engine 3 games looks horribly and got this "shiny" look like korndog pointed out, I think he's totally right.
