THQ releases some new screenshots of Juiced 2 in a ridiculously small size. It's still very strange graphically, but I can't say I don't like it. And Juiced 1 wasn't that bad, was it ?
The graphics are freaking awesome. If it runs well, they've found a way to produce almost cg-quality graphics on next-gen platforms where others fail so miserably. Even if the game itself sucks, that will be a feat to remember.
Similarly, Full Auto tried but failed. It only looks good if it runs good.
I don't mean to be rude, but seriously; the engine looks last gen.
Hard to gauge by the small shots, but I mean, the textures look low res, and lack any depth, the models, lighting and environments lack any kind of "umph". I hate to use the phrase, but by these shots, this game could easily pass for a good PS2 game, certainly nothing comparable to the likes of Dirt or PGR4 at this point.
The reflective shaders on the paintwork are ok, but nothing special, this game really should be kept cooking in the oven for a while yet.
Well, the original Juiced sucked as a driving game and this will suck too, (why change a winning formula), but the poly counts in both the environments and the cars stomp DIRT into the dirt. Coincidentally Dirt sucks as a racing game too, but that's beside the point.
If you people expect a great deal more from this generation than these graphics, especially from a 3rd party developer with a limited budget then, good luck.
Cant wait to see and read people's reactions when they finally see GT5.
