Ew.
I guess.
Any1 know how this is going to be different than Singstar then?
So are we going to see Bill Gates lips on the cover, givin a frenchie to a mirror with a camera mounted behind it?
Can someone clear this up? I'm picking this game up as soon as possible :)
Did you see the movement pictures (in at least pictures 1,4,5,7). Does that mean that the mic has an accelerometer or what? Looks like the game is saying "Do this move".

Let's say it's similar to the maracas from dreamcast's samba de amigo.
You can shake to start a co-op session in the middle of a solo play, and there are various positional moves to be used during the karaoke singing.
I know MS are trying to branch out to casual gamers but really, a karaoke game? Not exactly original.
"Cool! Very original."

If you emphasised otherwise, Singtar hasn't really made a stamp in the US, so there's a lot of potential room there for Lips to touch. As for Europe, we know they love Singstar, so I guess it could have a pretty big success rate there as well (as Microsoft obviously thinks).
I however Microsoft should release Lips in Japan. Maybe not because it would score big (because, it probably won't), but I always wondered how they would receive a karaoke game (that I heard of I'm sure there's plenty of anime based karaoke games out there, right?). And in Lips' case its developed by iNiS, and that should give 'em a little bit of victory right?
By the way, whats up with the lyrics on MP3 sing along? Stumbled across a new Lips trailer (go to Lips game detail page at Xbox dot com, second trailer in listing) focusing heavily on the "get music" features of Lips, but at the end of the trailer it says "Lyrics will not display when singing to your music collection". Now, I'm pretty sure it also said that in the E3 trailer although also sure that Keiichi Yano actually said that it would work with lyrics to your MP3 music, however he couldn't get more into it [at the time], but they had a very creative solution in store. And then I'm also sure that I've read somewhere that the lyrics (edit: to go along with the music stream feature) will come post-launch, in a update of some sort.
Now I'm sure of a lot, but the MP3 & lyrics feature is what got me hooked on Lips, though I've no idea whether its in there or not.
