Look at the first pic, look at her arms....heavy staircaseeffect = jaggies = absolutly no AA.....the same goes for the directfeedvideos over at IGN. In the videos you see it as a shimmeringeffect going on all over the place.
Im not saying it looks bad but try to play a game with no AA on a 80inch screen (projector) and your eyes will bleed. The same goes for Halo 3....
edit: Have a look at the new Bionic Commando screens. They have no AA either....
The shimmering effect might actually be the optional "film grain filter' that they have to give more of a cinematic look. Basically adds slight dither/noise and it can be turned off.

That depends kind of on what kind of deal MS already has with Bioware for the games, just cause they changed hands doesn't mean all their deals are null and void or anything.
chick in first pic is mad hot. armor in second pic needs bigger boobs to look normal. the jaggiez better not be there in motion. if they are, the game might as well be running at 640p.

No it's not that...
If you have a completly horizontal or vertical line across the screen and you slowly start turning it around you get a shimmering effect caused by the staircaseeffect that is caused by the lack of AA....
The visuals in motion are AMAZING!!, any BAD screenshoot from any game out there can be nip picked, we all know that if you want to see how it will look on your big screen go download the HD videos, i have and played it on my 48inch HD tv and it looks draw dropping good!.
This game could have the graphical quality of KotOR for all I care. I want the story! The prequel novel had such a fantastic world I can hardly wait for the game. Just to imagine that Shepard is the first human Spectre... wow.
Also, this seems like the first game to "get" dialogue. Interruption, smart adaptation ... wonderful.
Now I just hope the game isn't too hard or that combat will be mostly "optional"(*) and this could very well be the best game ever.
(*) I don't suck at games. But I just want to enjoy the story and the setting. Not a challenge.

Jaggies ALL over the place whatever!!, i guess all the big gaming sites out there stating that this game has some of the best visuals they have seen, are blind to this jag-fest you can see.
I ain't worry A BIT about the graphics. I've seen the game at the Leipzig Games Convention at Microsoft, a gameplay demonstration. I was with a whole group of people and we had seen some pretty-fucking nice graphics from games that day already(Alone in the dark,Fallout 3,COD4) but when we saw the graphics from Mass Effect....we couldn't believe our eyes. So do not worry about jaggies...NONE were to be seen at that demonstration.
The UE3 doesnt allow for AA due to the order of the shader rendering or some nonsense but without the UE3 the game wouldnt look as good so its a catch 22, or some nonsense.
The "jaggies" in Gears never bothered me because its still the best looking game on any system and at 720p native theyre not a problem on my 40" close-up gaming screen.
And yet we have games like PGR4 which uses 4XAA ingame and idiot reviewers complain about "jaggies detracting from the experience" IGN.
I know the 360 gamers are almost exclusively privileged to whine about jaggies cause we have the "free AA" EDRAM onboard the GPU that no other system has. But I'm just happy games like VF5, Sega Rally, PGR4, Lost Planet, Forza2, Ace Combat, NFS ProStreet etc actually use the FREE AA and look spectacular while doing it.
They are learning to use it two years after the launch of the system, times are looking good. Now as for the competition, they either have to find that extra 15-20% in their GPU's to muster the AA we get or as the case will often be, not. Enjoy it where applicable.
