Images of Prototype

Alex Mercer is truly a Kirby ; he can absorb the powers of its enemies and transform in order to send them back in their teeth. Here is the premise of Prototype for the PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. Radical Entertainment whisper me that the game takes place in a modified New York city with a big sense of freedom. Will be released in 2008.

looks awful, perhaps a lot goes on at once to justify the quality?

I would be OK with this graphic quality if everything in the game was destructible, that includes all buildings, cars and random objects. Thankfully we won't need to worry about it seeing as how these are early screen shots and most games have a tendency to improve as they are finished.

Bitching about an early build of a game is like telling a chef that his cake looks like shit before he puts it in the oven...kind of pointless.

looks acceptable, no idea the point of this game kinda looks like that "possesion" which never saw the light of day.

And the sandpit gaming kinda bores me though

"Radical claims that there will be 750 "unique combinations" of powers"

"the player can visit most locations and interact with the environment while not engaged in missions"

"A key aspect of Prototype is the 'disguise or destroy' concept"

Those monster designs are so ugly and generic. The graphics don't look too bad technically, but the art pushes it into the 'ugly' category.

I dont know. It seems to be looking on par with GTA4. I see realtime lighting and shadowing, per pixel motion blur, great particle effects and a ton of people on screen at once. The physics also look they will be a treat.

Looks really bad Graphics wise. Like an Xbox 1 or even Ps2 game(maybe that's pushing it)

screw the visuals...I want to see this in gameplay visuals.
Screenshots doesn't make a "next-gen" justice.

It may look like shit on screenshot but in motion it looks much better...hopefully.

The Wii does not have the specs of the 360 or PS3...We all know this and it isn't going to change. Take the games for what they are and you may even enjoy them? Stranger things have happened at sea you know.

This isn't a Wii game, yes, I know it's hard to believe.

Well, that was true in Crackdown. All the early previews made me think the game would suck, but it was tons of fun, and the graphics looked great while playing.

I can certainly agree that this game does not look fantastic but then again i'd love to play a combo of shape-shifter-monster-crackdown ;)

MrWhite The game doesn't have to rely on cheap jump scares normally associated with traditional game design in VR. The immersion just does it automatically. It's something a normal TV can't compete with. (2 Hours ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite the game should come with a warning and a disclaimer should you decide to play it in VR. As soon as you're there, it's extremely uncomfortable, even if nothing is happening. (2 Hours ago)

MrWhite @alimokrane: Trust me on this, if immersion and horror is the aim here, and it is, then first person and VR makes perfect sense. I'm not joking when I say this... (2 Hours ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite @alimokrane: The demo is tame compared to what I seen in the first 45 minutes. The atmosphere got ramped up big time, and don't be thinking you're safe behind closed doors or walls. (2 Hours ago)

alimokrane @MrWhite: I know people prefer VR or first person view but if they were to patch 3rd person view, my life would be complete. (2 Hours ago)
