¿The game will be finally done by SH team or not? Thanx ^^

SH team has pretty much gone their seperate ways , they started to leave after Silent hill 2, not sure how many are left. This game is being made by a different developer, which could be good, or it could be really bad. So far it looks interesting, and pretty creepy, and those nurses give a strong Silent hill 2 vibe to the game

I should clarify,

The Team Silent members are now working on separate projects throughout Konami, but have not officially disbanded.

I have faith that the collective will make this game great.

The graphics have a ways to go, but there are some REALLY interesting things going on with the lighting in the second and third pic. I love how parts are lit by the reflection glow off the ground.

Silent Hill is my favorite Horror Survival game, needless to say i'm pumped for this release.

as long as the game is good then it doesnt matter much to me if the silent hill guys are gone. its like what Bethesda Softworks is doing with the fallout series. from what i seen from that it looks great. maybe this new silent hill could be good. and im pretty sure it will be good since it would be a waste of money for the developers to take over a series and not even try.

agreed, sometimes a fresh perspective from a new team is just what the doctor ordered.

I was initially skeptical about the change in development teams, but once I heard that Yamaoka was overseeing the game, and saw the screenshots and gameplay videos, I am 100% confident this game will kick ass.

I know the graphics will rock, but I just want to see gameplay changes from the previous SH games so at least it comes playable. The controls were terrible, and combat was just....not there. Hopefully, this Western dev team makes it all the better, while still keeping that SH vibe.

Yeah, those screens look good. The grafx aren't too hot, but that's okay. SH1 had terrific grafx, and the game was one of the best I ever played! So, when the gameplay improved, and the story is captivating, then I already love this game!!! BTW, is anything known yet about the story?? Some relations with an early part??

I don't really know what to think about these...on one hand they don't look bad, but then again i don't really get that silent hill feeling from them either. Looks way too bright. I guess i'll have to wait a bit longer before i decide what to think about it. As for now: cautious optimism.

Graphics need some polish. Only thing im worried about is whether an american studio can recreate the errieness that is the Silent Hill world. If they can nail that and deliver some great graphics and effects then we could have a winner.

It looks so similar to SH2... male protagonist with a flashlight in his chest pocket, crazy knife-wielding nurses, a child running around oblivious to the hideous creatures skulking about...

Anyhow, from what I've seen in the HD Gamevideos movies, it looks like they've nailed the SH art style (especially the paint simulation they showed). I'm glad to see a new camera system, and I'm really excited for the new combat system, too. All we've got to worry about it whether or not they will deliver a true SH story. I really hope they do. I like that they want to sort of "remake" SH2 (one of my all-time favorite games. 3 is great too. 4...not so much. 1 is good), but I don't know if that's exactly good for the series. I liked 3 because it was a SH game but significantly different from SH2.

Needless to say, like the rest of you, I'm really looking forward to SH5.


BTW, did anyone else get an Alan Wake feel from the HD vids? I wonder how similar both of these games will be. Both like look complete SH2 clones lol. I like.
