Announced as part of the Nintendo conference which happened in the early hours of October 10, 2007, Super Mario Stadium Baseball hits an homerun with the fans of the genre and these first images where Mario, Bowser, Peach and others have fun on the field. Up to four players will be able to play simultaneously, and the game will be available in 2008 for Japan.

Nintendo needs to quit milking this series for all it's got. Why don't they take the solid game engine they usually have for their mario sports games and make a REAL sports game.

Nintendo has taken all the prestige out of Mario. The only reason Mario Galaxy won't be a juggernaut release is because they've milked him for all his worth. People are just plain sick of seeing Mario, including myself.

I'm sure it will, but it's sales will pale in to comparison to the Mario games of old, largely in part to games like this. Mario is still popular, but he is no longer a phenomenon like he was in 80s and 90s. Nintendo has crippled their biggest property.

What if Microsoft started making junk like "Halo: Baseball Evolved"? How many records do you think the franchise would break after that? Not too many.

It's at least partially true because during one of those years (like 93 or 94) Mario was THE most recognized fictional character. Now it's like Homer Simpson or Bugs Bunny or something.
