Gamecock (Website: Gamecocklove.com...err ) had the great idea to release some new assets of Velvet Assassin at the same time as Microsoft's Gamer's day event, so here they are. The game was previously known as Sabotage and will be released this fall on PC and Xbox 360.
Gamecock press release:
‘VELVET ASSASSIN’ TO INFILTRATE XBOX 360 AND WINDOWS-BASED PC THIS FALL
Beautifully Realized Stealth-Action For Gamers
Cockpit, Austin, Texas – May 13, 2008 – Gamecock Media Group today announced that ‘Velvet Assassin’ will be available on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and Windows-based PC when it releases in fall 2008. Developed by Replay Studios, Velvet Assassin is a stealth-action game set in World War II and is inspired by real-life British secret agent Violette Szabo.
“This is a project we’ve been incredibly excited about from the start,” said Sascha Jungnickel, Creative Director at Replay Studios. “Velvet Assassin is going to be an amazing experience both in its visual style and gameplay, it will be awesome to get it to such a massive audience.”
Players assume the role of Violette Summer and head deep behind enemy lines with no support or official backing from the British Government. Violette risks her life fighting to defeat the German war machine one stealth mission at a time. Velvet Assassin combines lush, surreal visuals and a ground-breaking stealth combat system to deliver a gaming experience which is truly the first of its kind.

Anyone else see faked volumetric lights? I think I see somethign suspiciously ugly in the middle pic. Other wise looks nice. LOADS of glowiness though.
what i dont like about this game is the darkness of most levels. now, in splinter cell where night vision goggles where at hand, its fine. in this game however you have nothing of the sort and have to just stumble your way around figuring out where to go. in the footage the devs where showcasing a while ago, the guy ran into a guard cos it was so dark.
i dunno. i like these sort of games so im all for it. but i dont want it to be unplayable becasue of the night vision-less era mixed with the dark areas.
For real?! LOL! But it looks nice, I have to admit. I agree with grandson though. This would be the only ww2 game to catch my interest. I'll have to look into this one.
The lighting in this game is awesome. I remember seeing a video of a light swinging around in the darkness, looked awesome.
Also, would people quit complaining about darkness and things. Am I the only one interested in a game that is realistically dark? I hate it in games where they're doing a cave level or something and it's all lit up, it's ridiculous. Get out of your comfort zone once in a while.
And if something like darkness is gonna put you off a game, then... I don't know what to say. There are outside levels in the game as well, this isn't Doom 4. Anyway, it's an atmosphere choice, not a "I know let's make the game dark for the sake of it" sort of thing.

@GriftGFX: well Dragon age extracted is suppose to be arround 20 gigs but the download was only 8 gigs or 15 gigs...procedure might be different for newer games (4 Hours ago)

45 minutes for this game would have to be like... 3+ megabytes per second. My Comcast can't do that. (4 Hours ago)

My FFOW DL is almost 12.9 gigs and like 95% done. (4 Hours ago)

Steam appears to download extracted and installed, there's no install process once you finish downloading a game. (4 Hours ago)

D2D file right now is 9.2 GB's. I think it was less when I was downloading it (now its extracted) I am pretty sure Steam works the same way. 12 gb is probably the extracted size :P (4 Hours ago)
