My guess would be $20 USD. That's how much I (initially) paid for Dark Ressurection...

@ knox, who cares. If you play it on a widescreen then it's 16:9.

Looks great but like knox said its odd they are ANAMORPHIC. HD is not anamorphic, it's 16:9 native.

One reason could be that they are video grabs from a video captured to be anamorphic, would explain some of the fuzziness.

I hope Cold Storage is doing some music for this or their music is being reused. Wipeout without top-notch trance tunes is not wipeout at all. I'm sure the marketing department is just itching to use some ass-rock and worthless bands in this one, the kinds they have every night on Conan O'Brien for the past 15 years (count the bands.. thats UMPTEENTHOUSAND useless ass-rock bands).

I think I'll pass if a real sequel is really in the works. Wipeout Pulse will be mine though.

I hope there's NEW Cold Storage music in the game. Still listening to nearly every one of his tracks to this day. Besides a few select songs, it's been the ONLY good music in WipEout games too...

FZero rip off?
You are joking?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wipeout_(game)

The only F-zero to precede Wipeout was on the SNES, and that was nothing like it. You could easily argue that subsequent releases of F-zero ripped off Wipeout.

FZero rip off?
Why not Fatal Inertia ripoff? ⌐.⌐

Oh, and how come the resolution of screenshots are screwed up? Isn't it supposed to be 1080p? What I see aren't even widescreen.

well yeah, f-zero DID come first and it was a futuristic racer involving hovering jet racers.

speaking of, f-zero gx (graphically) still looks better than this, and its 4 years old.

I'll never understand how people can enjoy these games. I've always hated games like wipeout and F-zero. The controls just feel so wrong. It's like racing a futuristic shopping cart in low gravity.

Joking of course, but still the gameplay just feels so wrong to me. Guess i'm too wrapped up in sim racers...

I disagree with that, and these are some low quality screens too (taking a still from the high quality video on PSN looks better). But I agree this game isn't amazing looking either.

It IS just a downloadable title, after all.

why have a blu-ray when you then downlaod you most prescious IPs? Kind of shows that at the moment people are not needing the full capacity of it (blu-ray), if you can get decent games like this and warhawk.

Also Geometry on it looks low but it's pre-production. Will never beat the SNES f-zero though , that was pure class.

Lastly am i missing something? They look 16:9 ratio to me?

Oh come on. The SNES F-Zero played entirely different to Wipeout and to the N64 / GC versions. And to be honest even those versions were so different to Wipeout that I fail to see how one could have ripped off the other.

As for the visuals, I'd agree the screen shots above look crap. But if you've got a PS3 then you can download the ingame trailer thats been on the PSN for ages, which looks jawdroppingly pretty.
