Ok I'm going to be 'that' guy, my god this looks bad. Game play and engine are beyond dated. Am I stretching to say that Battlefield 3 is on par or better looking then this?
Do yourself a favor Infinity Ward, just sell the remastered original COD Modern Warfare at a reduced price and bundle this for free. Infinite Warfare reminds me of Resistance on the PS3 which was interesting for about 5 mins until I got bored with it.
It reminds me of when they showed gameplay of gears of war 4, Where the devs are talking about these new and exciting things that make it different, but you're watching it and all you can think to yourself is...this just looks like more of the same. And because lf that they have no sense of urgency anymore...You know exactly what to expect.

When i buy a sequel more of the same is exactly what i want. I dont want set-piece driven game to suddenly become a walking sim in sequel etc.
I dont understand why cod ( the game, not it's community btw ) is getting so much hate by so many people for not doing new things while at the same time praising bf 1 so much for just changing the setting. I ve played a lot of bf2, 3,4 and after watching over an hour of gameplay it looks exactly like standard bf but with a different setting, weapons, vehicles etc. So tell me, why does cod deserves so much hate when its doing basically the same thing as bf1.

I'm not sure I really follow, but I have my own take on the issues you guys are talking about.
It's kind of a damned if you do, damned if you don't sort of thing. Fans don't always respond well to change, even when the game is good, and non-fans don't generally understand incremental changes at all. You can make one product that displeases two different groups of people in exactly the opposite way. I actually think Battlefield 1 is going to suffer a little because of it. I think some Battlefield players are going find some of the differences uncomfortable, and more casual fans/non-fans might not notice the differences.
I'm still not crazy about it, personally.
Call of Duty has gone through the same sort of thing. It's changed a lot more than some people credit it for, but as a prior fan of the franchise I don't think it's always been for the best. Personally, I think they jumped the shark a long time ago.

baring in mind i'm commenting on the single player here...as the footage is showing. and the exact same criticisms are most definitely raised against BF, if not more-so. i mean since when was any high praise given to BF's "by the numbers" single player mode?
as grift has said, COD, as far as MP is concerned, has changed quite a lot. not so much in regards to it's core shooting, but definitely in regards to movement options and how bombastic the killstreaks have gotten etc. its that's which has pushed a lot of people away, but it's also that which has drawn a lot of people in. you can't please everyone. but in terms of SP, i feel they need to try something new to get that sense of urgency and tension back... making an enemy type look like a robot and turning him into a bullet sponge doesn't really change the core of the experience. it just changes what you're looking at while doing the same thing.
maybe it doesn't need to change? maybe what they're showing is exciting a lot of people? but as i mentioned and much like that gears footage, i was hoping we'd be seeing something...different. seeing it's just a re-skin is a disappointment.
I'm really getting tired of this heavily scripted BS gameplay that so many CoD fans praise. Nothing about this game speaks to me in any important way...

When was the last time you played BF3? BF3 does NOT look this good.
I'm not all that interested in this game but man do I get tired of "THIS LOOKS LIKE X GAME FROM LAST GENERATION" when it isn't even close to true. Lets also remember that BF3 was a 30fps game on consoles, this is 60. Even targeting double the performance you're looking at a much better looking game. Even compared to the PC version of BF3. I'm not going to say it looks worlds above BF3, but significantly sharper and with much better lighting, PBR materials, etc.
Game looks interesting. Looks like they stole from Titanfall and Killzone this time. I may give it a try just for the novelty, or I may not buy it just to send CoD developers a hint that we're tired of their yearly installment plan.
Anybody else think multiplayer and weapons in CoD are getting worse?
And yes it's all scripted but being isn't always a bad thing. CoD probably can't pull it off, but some games do. Don't drag scripting into this. Scripting did nothing wrong.
