man i want this game so badly

Can't wait for it. The vertical aspect of the game adds so much more gameplay area, having choppers etc. in GTA was nice but it never really used the rooftops to any decent extent.

Top interview, I like the XCN stuff keep it coming :)

Co-op in this game will be a blast. I hope they get that properly balanced to keep it challenging. No doubt Slabs will get his copy 2 weeks only like Lost Planet!

WOW, that was a great interview. Surprisingly Crackdown is taking much of the hype I had for Lost Planet.........something tells me LP's gameplay will lack, yep, I said it.

Anyways here's a question for Deftangel or anyone with the answer, does this game have a good story? Does it have cutscenes?

Wow i'm sooo pumped for this game, it wasn't even on my radar but now its a must have

I just want to know how big is the game really? Same size as GTA:III? or is it smaller like Saints Row?

the vid's ive seen of this game so far show that it is friggin huge but remember i never played any GTA (except lil bit of san andreas which i didnt like at all) so i dont know how big it is compared to GTA's

I know that Rockstar is doing a great job with GTA 4, but I really hope they are seriously taking notes from the latest GTA inspired games like Crackdown and Saints Row, cause all these games are doing things that are really nice and a lot of these things more people, including myself, have expected for some time now... such as co-op and various tweaks.

I haven't played enough GTA:SA either to comment. It certainly felt as big as say Saint's Row, in terms of AREA. Maybe bigger, there probably isn't much in it.

However I think comparisons are kind of moot. In Saints Row you have some limited amount of indoor environments. In Crackdown the world is scaled vertically, there is so much more going on above. It would definitely have more VOLUME thats for sure.

My question:
Is there split-screen coop? That would be a blast!!

I can't wait for this demo and the full game.

Rockstart doesnt have to do much anything to sell like crazy, sho why would they add any multiplayer options and waste their time. At most they will add some sort of MP to their third or fourth next-gen GTA iteration, depending on how well the competition eats into their pie.

I've seen this interview not long ago, can't remember where though :/
Nice pictures by the way

Is it confirmed that there's split-screen co-op, damn I wonder how they managed that then if everything's "pushed to the limit". Wow that's gonna be loads of fun throwing trucks/people at my bro/friends in split-screen :P

Your lack of faith in Rockstar games is . , , interesting. True, they could sell millions of copies just for showing up, but at it's heart, Rockstar North is still very much DMA, and they will not show up to the party unless they reinvent the entire GTA concept/execution/etc. This is exactly what they did when they brought GTA to the last gen, reinvented it from the ground up, and there is nothing in the entire history of the company to even suggest that coming to an entirely new generation of hardware, they will not reinvent everything all over again.

If you are honestly of the impression that GTA IV is going to be a lackluster experience with the GTA name slapped on the front, you my man are in for one of the biggest surprises of your life. I'll put it this way. Expect GTA IV to not only sell twice as well as Halo 3, but expect it to be just as good and just as fun in it's own right. And as for the multiplayer, I believe it was Sam Houser who said in an interview not too long after the release of San Andreas, that one of the goals for the next game in the series was online multiplayer. If they stick to their guns, and there is no reason to think they would not, you can expect to see that in the game come October 16, 2007.

On the subject of Crackdown, I have been loving the look of this game from the moment it was announced days before X05. Yeah, it's had almost a years worth of delays, but that is fine with me as long as the game kicks ass. And so far, every game on the 360 that has seen similar delays have all wound up kicking lots of ass by the time they were released. I expect no different here and know Jones to be a very competent designer who will see the final product is something worth writing home about.

I am liking that Crackdown is bringing a lot to the table, as it is going to force Rockstar North (and anyone else who wants to make a quality sandbox title) to bring their A-game or go home. I just worry that Crackdown is going to wind up like Viva Pinata, and no one buys it. Until recently, MGS has been dropping the ball completely on marketing any first party title during the last few months that did not have Gears in it's name. Crackdown and a lot of other 1st party titles have been left hanging in the wind as it were and peoples' perceptions of these games have turned quite sour during the latter half of 2006. Time for Shane Kim to get his marketing peeps off their asses and back to work. Gears of War is out and is successful on it's own, but it requires a lot more than just two AAA exclusive franchises to achieve victory in this industry, and they need to insure that what happened to Viva Pinata, does not happen ever again to another 1st party title. Every 1st party title needs to be perceived as a million seller before they even launch (especially if they are a really good game like Viva). So far MGS has been dropping the ball here and they need to get it in gear to insure games like Crackdown do not meet a similar fate as Viva.

I think including Halo 3 beta tickets in copies of Crackdown is a great start, but it needs to go further - it needs to get people to want to buy Crackdown on it's own. If the MGS marketing department is doing their jobs right, people should feel as if buying Crackdown is the main course and getting a chance at the Halo 3 beta ticket, is the icing on an already sweet cake. So they need to crank things up a bit. I know Realtime Worlds has APB coming out in 2008, but I'd certainly like to see Crackdown evolve into a proper franchise that gamers will anticipate new ones every few years or so.

I'm really looking forward to the co-op, this game looks like total fun.

I like the way the 3 Kingpin idea works too, with the various gang bosses you need to defeat to make them easier to take down.

And those transforming cars look awesome.

Probably, they send out a part of the interview to a few number of people - plus some exclusive ones for some of us, the we ourselves asked.

And now that the Halo 3 multiplayer invites will be included in random copies of Crackdown, it will sell much, much more!
