team Mexico is referring to the Lucha fighting style right? not their country of origin.

There's been a Team Mexico in King of Fighters since 1994's King of Fighter's 94 which was composed of the Art of Fighting characters.

Each team is representing a respective country.

Believe it or not, all three characters are Mexican. Angel is a very stereotypical Japanese character, but she is indeed supposed to be from Mexico. Her skin used to be slightly darker too.

A character's skin color doesn't have to be darker to be Mexican being that Mexican ancenstry is a mix of Native American Indians and Europeans.

Angel is probably more of a stereotypical Japanese Kawaii girl character because Japan is the primary market however.

Ramon says "Viva Mexico!" in his winning pose.

Then again I never got Mexican from that Gloria Trevi.
