Wow, the source engine is beginning to look really outdated. So little detail and poor textures.

I'll agree that after almost 5 years it's time for Valve to come up with a new engine (HL2:EP3 will probably be the last Source release for them).. But I'll also wait to judge L4D on graphics after I've seen and played the PC version, because just like the Source engine the current consoles are also starting to show their age (compared to PC)..

Maybe so but it still doesn't take away the fact that the game is bloody loads of fun, even better with a m+k/b :)

Already pre-ordered mine and cant wait, so much potential this game has, what with the modding scene etc.

oh damn it, for a moment there i thought it was the pc version.:( valve are being really mean to us pc gamers, i pre-ordered my copy from play.com, not valve.

Ugh, another Gold-only demo? Could you guys please start putting that in the news topic, or does MS have a new demo policy I'm not aware of? I hate having to unhook the PS3 every time this happens only to find out I can't even download the thing.

It has been like that for many months, new policy.

You wont say that when you actually play it and see 50 zombies running at you, yes running, not limping like most zombies we know and love/hate :D

But it has to be said, this is a game that is meant for the PC :)
Not because its an fps, it just feels better in front of your computer monitor, with headphones on, late at night with a beer or whatever on the desk :)

I believe it's a 7 day wait before you can download any demos if you just have the silver account.

now before you all talk about how its too easy, remember that the demo only has the first 2 chapters of the first 5-chapter campaign :)

Its a great game.

Don't make this into a console vs PC topic. The consoles are still very up to date graphics wise. Have you seen Gears of war 2? Far Cry 2? Ofcourse the higher resolution on PC and the extra AA features are missing on consoles, but some games are just more appealing on an 42" HDTV (like Mirror's edge and Grid e.g.). I love all platforms, as long as there are good games on it.

Sorry but the PC as it is now blows the 360 into a pile of poop, still a fairly decent console though ya hear ;)

There are very few games that got better looking character models than this. :)

If you can afford one. My PC as it is now is put to shame by the original Xbox.

It's pretty good fun but the tech looks very dated and really should be retired. I also found the fish eye field of view pretty distracting and made it all look even worse.
