So will this be more of an action rpg, with real time combat?
If that's the case I might just consider getting this :) not a big fan of turn-based.

check out crisis core on the psp if you can/haven't already. Real-time and a lot of fun. If it's like that at all it'll be pretty good. Not expecting anything amazing but looking forward to this regardless.

The guys at square japan lost the concept of "less is more" a long time ago imo. Last game where the characters didn't look like complete and utter mega-twats was Final Fantasy 7, because they kept the concepts clean. I mean, even the games that i like, such as 12, still has pretty bad character design. for the most part. Mind you not as awful as this shit, but still.

I pray this game ends up being what the other Final Fantasy 13 games should have been, because thus far they have been downright terrible.

Nomura didn't even work on this. He does such little work for Final Fantasy, but he's always the one people complain about for the "downfall" of the series. There's been 1 bad mainline FF and mix of good and bad spin-offs.

See that's because the western part of Square is former Eidos.

yes and those games were already well ahead of development before SE acquired them

We will see how Eidos fellows fair with there next games, kinda like EA we need at least a while to see there effect (see dragon age 1-2 ME2-3 as examples)

I'm still highly skeptical of this game being released this year. Besides, I rather play the HD remake of Final Fantasy X anyway (even though that darn game always makes me cry everytime I play it....and I mean, the "ugly cry").
