Lost Odyssey: One more video

Lost Odyssey: One more video

I'm now at the beginning of the fourth DVD of Lost Odyssey, after a nothing less than excellent third disc. I definitely don't want to show anything of the story, so here is a quick fight from a special mode of the game. Beware though, one of the characters shown there has not really been revealed yet so if you want to keep the experience totally fresh, do not watch this video. Still, this shows the fight menu in english, some more advanced spells and skills than before, and the ring system. More info inside.

This video is from the Backyard mode of the game. It's a not so secret location in one of the cities, where you can fight increasingly difficult battles/challenges to earn some very good prizes. This video shows the first fight, so it's pretty easy even though if the Kelolon had managed to strike Tolten he would have taken something like 2000 damages.

First backyard fight (spoilers)

What's with the Keledons? Did they originate from Blue Dragon or something else?

BTW, I'm finally on the 3rd disk of BD.

Looking forward to this game somewhat.

Can anyone tell me how long it will take you to beat the game? And be honest! I was pretty disappointed when people said, it would take 40+ hours to beat Eternal Sonata and I finished it in 22 hours or something..
Cheers

The way you play the game is the key, each person beat the game in his own time. I have finished the first DVD in 16:23 hours. I´ve read from people finishing it in 12 hours, other in 8 (not reading the dreams, not speaking with all people in towns, holding the "run button" even in the cinematics, etc etc)
This game will be so long to me, that´s for sure. I spect betwen 60-70 hours, like in classic Final Fantasy games (VII, VIII and IX)but others will beat the game in 40 hours maybe

You need to go listen to PS1 music again I reckon.

Game length is normally around 48 hours for most people I think, I am at 68 though and still haven't finished it, but I have been exploring everywhere possible.

Okay thanks.. ~50 hours is decent enough for me! I`m sure as hell not gonna speed run through a game with so much beauty an stile but that doesn`t mean I gonna talk to all the persons in the game or try to gather every item etc
When is it coming out btw?(europe)
Cheers

refering to the irritating synth nature of the tune...very repititive, the worst aspect of jrpg music. Some of the other tracks are much better though

February 29th for Europe. Although the game is completely region free, if you don't want to wait.

  • KORNdog
KORNdog i just think it's an awful idea to base a movie on a game that had a terrible story, a terrible script and characters devoid of personality...including the protagonist. why would someone do that. lol (7 minutes ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog but at least she isn't doing that super exaggerated breathy "acting" luddington does in the games (10 minutes ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog the woman just looks so wooden as well. which is probably why she did well playing a robot in ex machina lol. (12 minutes ago)

KORNdog @Melmoth: it's the level of the CGi that i find pretty funny. it's like one of those giant creature movies you'd see at 3am on syfy lol (13 minutes ago)
  • Melmoth
Melmoth the trailer gave the impression that every big action sequence will culminate in her doing an inhumanly long jump (18 minutes ago)

KORNdog @alimokrane: yeah but you liked the POS story and characters in the reboot, so it's not really surprising that you like it. lol (19 minutes ago)
