Capcom released some new images of Lost Planet 2. The game will ship very soon now and we should be able to review the offline campaign in time for the beginning of next week.
I still haven't beaten the first game. It was a descent looking game at its time, but so many good games started to flood my library that Lost Planet started to collect dust. Its tank like controls kind of turned me off a little. Maybe one day I'll try to beat it since I have a certain ambition to conquer every game that I paid for. I'm starting stray away from shooters, though. I fear that this generation will become stale with so many shooters (mainly fps). The developers are doing a poor job at making good games for the other genres. There aren't many rpgs, puzzle solving, or story driven games that pull the player in anymore. I hope the developers will get back to making adventure games that don't just rely on shooting everything that moves.
The first one had some decent character designs, but this is downright stupid! Why would they feel compelled to turn it around 360 degrees? Just horrible.

I just read IGN UK's review. Disappointing! Will still get it, only when it's cheaper.

Seems they didn't "fix" anything for the sequel, and they darn sure heard the complaints!
To quote the American IGN article:
Lost Planet 2 plays like it was never put in front of a member of its intended audience at some point during its development, someone who might have asked "why?"
