I think it's possible for a developer to utilize a USB Keyboard/Mouse for their games for the 360.
FFXI certainly supports KB for text input, but doesn't provide mouse support, for whatever reason..some people are pretty opposed to mouselooking on a console..for a variety of reasons that I shall not get into. I can't say I see eye to eye with that opinion, but I won't argue against it (I may beg for support later though, heh)
I think EA's already hinted though that they've come up with some nice new way of controlling this title on a gamepad...guess we'll see soon enough.
Game looks nice though...if it works well, I wouldn't mind seeing more console RTS. Medevial 2:TW would be fun on XBL :)
tadaa:
"EA released this long video of Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle-Earth 2. It's recorded from the PC-version but it should give you an idea of how the game plays, as it shows 12 minutes of multiplayer action while being commented by one of the developers."
I guess I could have read a little slower. Thanks. ;)
I'm thinking an auto-centering cursor would work well for an analog stick. Then you could just flick it this way and that, not having to worry about tracking it across the screen so much. The other stick could be used for panning.
i am actually excited for this game, but i am just worried how an RTS will play on the consols.
Another game to add to my long list. I wish i was David Beckham, he has so much damn money!
Same here. I've never even played an RTS here though.

Anyway, RTS on the 360.. it'll never work! Anybody else want to reiterate that again?
Heck, I'm not complaining, we need all the games we can get.

if it's the money you want go for bill gates, he's got more :)
Yeh but everyone hates Bill Gates... rather unfairly in my opinion but still...

I remember people say FPS's on consoles dont work, how wrong they were...
It works, but at a pretty dumbed down gameplaylevel compared to FPS on the PC.. As with RTS, I have no clue how they are gonna do it on the Xbox 360.. RTS requires very fast precision clicking on tiny units among many other untis, bassicly *a lot* of micromanagement etc.. I have no idea how you would control that with a controller, but we'll see what they come up with.. My guess is again dumbed down gameplay, only even much worse then with FPS..
I'm a huge FPS nut..I like the idea of console FPS games--and I loved Halo 2--but even then I played the majority of my games with a SmartJoy. Not because I had to, or that it even made it better (it would have, but Halo isn't set up correctly for the SmartJoy to work well with it) but because I wanted to. I can't wait for Halo 3...but man...I'd kill for kb+M support for it. But it's not gonna happen...unless we beg for it.
This opinion isn't very popular with a lot of console gamers--but I totally agree. Give me kb+M pwease MS, don't make me beg :(

Just stick to FPS on your PC if you really can't adapt to the less(er) control with console FPS games.. It kindof sucks to spend a lot of money on keeping that PC uptotdate, I know, but it's the only way if you want to keep playing FPS like it's meant to be played (same with RTS, although that luckily is usually a bit less demanding on the hardware end then FPS).. ;)
Does anyone know if huxley is going to support cross platform servers ?
