Mafia 2 gives the assault

Mafia 2 gives the assault

Only a couple hours after the unveiling of a tiny screenshot for Mafia 2, here are five new ones this time in full resolution. It makes no doubt, the graphics are impressive. Please just make it less of a hassle to control it, especially in shootouts. The game, developed for PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, has still no release date.

Looks great. Never played the first one but heard it was awesome. Hopefully we'll get some gameplay video soon.

Looks like a PC game :) Super-sharp graphics.

LMAO look at the first pic! It looks like the fat dude is thinking "no, why are you doing this? ;( i've been down this road before, things in my mouth.."
He looks really comfortable with it, grasping it tightly with his lips. LOL :D

The reflections on that red car looks insanely good, and the lighting inside the arms dealer place.. Wow...... GTA4, Saints Row 2, Maifa 2.. AMAZING time for gaming.

The first game was PC exclusive, and I would imagine that the PC is the lead dev platform for this game.

Hm Baleur is there something you wanna talk about? lol........Very 'interesting' analysis of the 1st screenshot there ¬_¬

LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE the first Mafia and this looks to have kept the style!
HURRAY FOR CAPABLE DEVELOPERS!

And yeah probably PC exclusive or has it already been announced for PS3 and X360?
Well I don't care I'm getting it for PC either way lol since no doubt that'll be the best version.

Looks nice, very good textures and the likes. Even with the addition of the inevitable jaggies this will look great =)
Commented on 2008-03-07 06:16:46
Mafia1 had no jaggies and looked as clean and I run it on 1280x1024.

This is the style of their engine, I don't expect jaggies.

Jaw-droppingly gorgeous. I played the first one from start to finish... like, a million times. One of the last great DX8 games, I say.

I wonder if they're going to have challenges to unlock bonus cars after you complete the story, like in the first?

I shall recycle my comment from the last thread........

The first game was one of the finest PC games of all time IMO so I'm really looking forward to this :)

I'm not 100% sure but I believe this one will be multiplatform on consoles as well as the PC.

I think it looks more like what I was expecting from GTAIV.
Commented on 2008-03-07 07:10:27
I'll keep thinking about GTAIV for now, all this excitement is too much for a man so poor.

Oh it just occurred to me: I wonder what the speed limit is this time hahah ;)

[people who didn't play Mafia1, don't bother trying to understand this post]

Slow.. but not as slow as Mafia 1 :)

These cars should have significantly more pick up.

"I'm sorry sir you were breaking the law, I'm going to have to fine you!"
Oh god I get that sound clip in my nightmares lol

Slow.. but not as slow as Mafia 1 :)
lol yeah hopefully but I'm kinda hoping devs don't listen to us and just do their thing like in Mafia1 but maybe have it so the AI is more realistic like how does an on foot cop notice the difference between 40mph and 45mph lol?!

Wow, looks very good. Wow, if the final game will really look like that on the consoles.... I'm in.
Beside all those war shooters this is some very great alternation. I like the settings and characters.

That's exactly my point. It has that PC-game feel to it. Not that it's a bad thing though.

Incredible - no bullshot comments. About the targeting system, wasn't it somewhat GTAish without free aim (on Xbox)? I only played the first one shortly at a friend and I remember something not quite right with it. This might be worth a look, though.

Mafia 1 had alot of jaggies depending on the computer the played it on, only the more powerful computers could run it with anti alising.
