Namco Bandai has sent a new developer diary for Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom. Titled "Fairytales, Friends and Foes", this video focuses on the universe and the mystery surrounding Majin. The game is still due for release at the end of the month.

No simply it looks nice and it plays good,it may be not that technically up to par to the AAA games that are out there that is obvious but the art design is awesome and it looks decent, and as far as I played there was no tearing or anything bad to it.
As I said gameplay is very good to IMO with good gameplay mechanics not confusing and the Majin AI is very good too, you can feel the bond the characters are making just by the demo alone and thats awesome.
Add to that this will be a 20-25 hour adventure with varied enviroments, lots of puzzles, it has good combat with a twist in that you "need" the Majin to win and you have a very good and refreshing game.

Im just saying that maybe some were playing it like a straight up action game when its not, the character its not a warrior, this is more about stealth kills and when you absolutly need to engage in combat you "NEED" the Majin to kill enemys and that mechanic works surprisingly well IMO.
I was hesitant to even download the demo but once I played I was hooked instantly.
The game looks good and the gameplay whilst in the demo seem to derivative and restrictive it is easy to see the potential, I sense it reviewing extremely well though I'm pretty sure people will comlain if it doesn't have co-op. It does what I wish most developers without a big budget would do and that is less emphasis on textures and all that other resource hungary stuff and just make a good looking High res PS2 game.
I could name quite a few PS2 games that with High res would even be ranked as some of the best looking visuals this gen. GOW 2 HD remake proved that and so will SoTC.

Fact is, i personally dont like it cause it's rubbish (going by the demo). Not only are the visuals lacking but the gameplay is too. Frankly i found it boring, clumbsy, and the giant thing sounded retarded.
Play it and voice your opinion. As frankly you wont know you'll enjoy it more than any "AAA piece of crap thats out at the moment" untill you do.

i agree. but i dont think this game is it. i'm not hating on it because it looks like something that came out of a dogs rear end. i'm hating on it becasue it isnt very good...in every sense of the word. the lame visuals just hammer that last nail in the coffin for me. but the gameplay (plus the retarded, barney the dinasaur voice acting) is what killed it in the first place.

It has a lot of interactivity, it has stealth gameplay, combination with the Majin and you to make powerfull strikes, the Majin at your command makes things like burning enemy, there is puzzles, and its only a demo mind you who knows what other stuff itsin store for us.
RPG elements in it, level ups for you and the Majin, you can talk to animals lol really cute stuff.
Sure as I said it might be not the best technically speaking in terms of graphics but who cares about that? not me thats for sure, art design its more important and its great in this game.

Its an example "FPS" its what its "in" this days it seems and more if it has the best of the best graphics(see KZ games)
Those things you said that are a problems with the game they are not in my opinion, I dont find the gameplay boring nor clunky, the stealth gameplay is well implemented(dont get seen) what contrived? you want some gadgets in there to make it more stealthy?
The voice acting gets the job done, the voice of the Majin specially, it is meant to make you see that he is inocent and almost like a child, you are suposed to feel sorry for him, thats why you rescue him, the main character felt sorry for him seeing he is likea lost puppy or something of that nature.
I realize you guys must play only a few games a year, maybe 2-3 tops, your standards are way too high, and its funny and ironic because a game comes out that have amazing graphics but does nothing original and gets heavily praised by some of you (GoW3).

I do know, because I know what I like and I know what I don't like.
I have had a chance to play it and I think the game is quite fun actually, it looks as jaggy as hell though which is a shame, because visually its not too bad, but the jaggies do ruin the visual experience quite a bit.
It's kind of like jak and daxter meets tomb raiders.
This reminds me of the SE game Nier which everyone turned their nose up at and that turned out to be a really cool game aswell.
Get your heads out of your asses guys there is more to gaming than "awesome" visuals, guns and violence.
