Making Off / Presentation of N3

Making Off / Presentation of N3

The japanese are quite lucky, since a japanese TV channel broadcasted this 10 minutes video about Ninety Nine Nights just in time for the Xbox 360 launch there. A few new sequences in there, and hopefully a better quality version tomorrow. Of course this is 100% in japanese !
Thanks to nvgvrez for the video !
Update : Better quality version online.

A question for anyone, is N3 a launch title? I suppose so since Blim said "in time for launch"......so....

It's not a launch title. It was delayed and isn't coming out until 2006.

Blim means that the presentation is just in time for the Jap launch. N3 was not originally a launch title anyway, but was schedule to release in mid-January. However it is delayed to Spring 06. Meaning we won't get a US/Europe version until later 2006.

wow, thanks nvgvrez!
I wish I could understand what was being said.

I think it's amazing that Japan embraces the video gaming industry to the extent that it would include such a large (seemingly unbiased) segment in a news show.
You would never see such a piece in American news... all we get is controversial arguments between the industry, gamers, and right wing extremists.
To the latter, we might as well be a welfare sucking, crack addicted mob of murderers.
(the 360 release did get a lot of local coverage, but only because of the long lines wrapping around blocks of buildings... no insight whatsoever... just made us look like a bunch of maniacs really, which might be true hehe.)

Edit:
I'll seed this through the night, being as it's over 100 mb.

GriftGFX *about game engine graphics pipelines (42 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Then you start getting into proprietary software hell and potentially preventing other developers from writing innovative software solutions themselves. It's a WEIRD idea. (43 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX and game engine graphics pipelines or even programming interfaces for their products. None of that is their role in the whole thing.. and it shouldn't be. (43 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX @Sdarts: Nvidia and AMD already do help developers with optimization more than they should have to. Nvidia and AMD should be improving the hardware and driver end of the technology and not worrying (44 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Nvidia and AMD don't even provide the API for their graphics cards. That would be the next layer between the developer and the video card. DirectX. (45 minutes ago)
