Mass Effect 2 trailer

Mass Effect 2 trailer

EA and Bioware proves that there is still a huge leap graphically between our current games and good CG with this great looking trailer of Mass Effect 2, seemingly announcing a longer video on Xbox Live for December 22.

Hey wait... January 26th, 2009? xD
Nobody told me, it's already out since January. O.o

Anyway, the first one was great on Xbox360 and even more on PC. Definately getting this one too.

nice pre rendered trailer (most noticeable during the scene with that worm). The girl looks prettier than in the actual in-game engine.

I'm looking forward to ME2 :D

Oh dear God that was just OMG!!!!!

I will buy it when I finished the first but you can be sure I will buy it full price, even if I have to order a copy from Bioware!!!!

They acknowledged it was a CG trailer as Bioware wanted to see what Blur studio could do with their assets.

Definitely a gap between what we have now and that CG. The gap will always be there though, the difference between what a computer can do in real time and with the luxury of minutes or hours to calculate a frame (not to mention post-processing) will always separate them.

BlimBlim is a super graphics whore, he is always complaining about one thing or another (I think he's a big fan of dynamic lighting, at least on neogaf :P)

This gap will allways progress towards zero, but will never reach zero. But even though, the actual graphics are pretty sharp. :D

that was epic.

Ive already seen the combat in Ingame graphics, and i know that it can be just as epic when using those biotic skills and those new weapons.

it was an impressive trailer none the less, CGI animators always love to go 10 steps out of the norm to deliver such drama.

Hey, isn't that the narrator from that National Geographic series from a long time ago? The one where the camera flew through the museum at the beginning and all the paintings came to life or whatever.

Can I just get a 2hr movie of that?

Amazing Trailer, but according to the release date at the end, it's been out nearly 11 months... weird! :o)

The fact you felt the need to point that out is worrying.

Next gen wont have graphics like this they will all be like wii with motion sensing or at least thats my nightmare. But would be nice for this kind of a leap next gen

About the game

What's up?
  • MrWhite
MrWhite After just viewing the trailer, yeah, I see what Melmoth was on about. Stick a pair of red dungarees and a cap on her, and a mustache. (1 Hour ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite Irony is they are basing the film off of a reboot where you don't actually raid many tombs. The female rambo shooty shooty run and jump shit translates well, though. (1 Hour ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite @Melmoth: Well, that's practically what Lara is now from the recent games. Anyway, most common traits of reboots in Hollywood boils down everything you knew about the original into a simplified trope (1 Hour ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog we have a spam bot Danie75 (1 Hour ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog i just think it's an awful idea to base a movie on a game that had a terrible story, a terrible script and characters devoid of personality...including the protagonist. why would someone do that. lol (1 Hour ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog but at least she isn't doing that super exaggerated breathy "acting" luddington does in the games (1 Hour ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog the woman just looks so wooden as well. which is probably why she did well playing a robot in ex machina lol. (1 Hour ago)
