After a teasing campaign on Youtube, Bioware finally released the complete version of the "Transmission" video for Mass Effect. The video quality is quite poor in kills all the details on the characters. Are at least I hope this is why they look so average.

...this was exactly my thought.

i really hope, the quality of the vid is just poor. i hope they didn't remove the high detailled textures on the characters faces we saw in screenshots* last week.

The quality seems the same to me, in the video. In the screenshots they do not look to good and I think the reason for that is the video was a small resolution. Therefore, the screenshot were blown up at least %10000 from the original size.

Video is from an old build (the Transmission video has been on Youtube since 26th of March) .

Screenshots from last week (the ones which blew everyone away after days of downgrade total talk) were taken from a very up-to-date build.

Although this is old built and is nothing like the new ones BioWare released, which means the good ones, I take this as how the game could be and is.

I for one, can't wait for this game to come out, and hopefully BioWare gives us a release date anytime soon and confirms a Collector's Edition...at least confirms a CE if not release date.

this means, the game will look famazing :-D - no doubt.

does anyone know if bioware will give us a demo before the game-release? (there has been this "demo-walkthrough" for some month now)

We can only take their word for it. BioWare don't come across like people who would BS you, but they'll catch a crap load of flak if they have been telling porkies!

This game is due out in June isn't it? That is likely near final in-game footage. And it is the best looking RPG footage i've seen. You all need to stop whining so much.

hmm, those images have the same new Sheppard face they said they changed to, so why those images have same quality as the crappy ones that came out before? I hope the game looks like the images last week....if not...it still looks ok :)

Maybe for once instead of criticising the video for looking "bad" when it doesn't, talk about the contents of the video itself, its interesting and theres got to be a reason why they showed us that video. The faces actually look like they are watching the video and taking it in which was very good aswell.

it's a You Tube vid blow up from another poor quality vid. There's actually another vid out there with intense fighting involving the female dressed in white armor. It's quality is just as poor.

Why release such low quality videos in the first place?

I mean, it just makes people assume that is how the game might look and is downgraded or something.. Why not just release great looking videos when the game is ready.

It was released as a big mail campaign. As such they had to have the video done a while ago to get out. My guess is that if Bioware gets done what they want, you'll have really detail cahracters in conversations and then they'll turn down the details in action
