Here is the first video of a series for Max Payne 3 that deals with the game's technical design. Rockstar Games plans to release the game in March 2012.

they really go above and beyond with the tech they use to get these great effects, game is looking great also, cannot wait play this, but while i wait will enjoy sr3

The New York levels look fu@king AMAZING and the brutal realistic violence from part 2 seems even nastier this time round. I just hope the levels set in Rio hold up.

And people doubted this game just cos he shaves his head...ha.

Looks awesome. I just hope he doesnt feel too heavy to control like characters have done in GTA and RDR, but you wont know that untill you get your hands on it. so far so good tho. Should be longer then the 3 hours you got out of the previous games too.

Looks phenomenal!! Just wish they didn't use that ugly color/blur filter during bullet time. Ruins a great looking game during those parts and is completely unnecessary. Not as bad as that old Stranglehold game had, but still...

I posted on the previous trailer that this was what we were going to get. I don't know why people doubt RS. If they are doing strictly a third person then you are going to get tech you haven't seen in any other games. And the best part is, I'm sure a bunch of this will spill over onto GTA5.

I've been watching this game and have only been curious about it until seeing this video. I am anxious for its release now. If anyone thinks this isn't Max Payne then you need to play the originals like I did many years ago, because this is a modern spitting image of the old days. Good stuff

Looks cool, but not sure about that "noir storyline" he talks about. Doesn't look as "dark" as the previous Max Payne. But of course, videogame media will jizz at every Rockstar Game(not Gamersyde though, they're better than that :D) so be careful....

Holy F! That is exactly what I was hoping this game would look like! Even the tank like euphoria controls appear to be gone! Cannot wait for this one!!

Implementing that 'gravity thing' usually leads to tank like controls. All engines should have an actual sense of weight, movement, and momentum.

I'm happy to see more emphasis on animation in a lot of games now. Visuals on consoles at least have pretty much hit the ceiling until the next generation. Great animation only make games look better.

I wasn't dissing on Euphoria, in fact I think it is one of the best technologies that we have seen this generation. I just think that the earlier versions of it had a bit of lag in the controls. It definitely got better between GTA IV and Red Dead, but it could still be improved a bit in my opinion. I agree that every game should focus much more on physics, but realism is not always perfection either. I don't want it to take me 5 seconds to stop running so I can turn around and run the other direction, even though realistically it should. We are still playing games after all.

All in all though, I completely agree with you. I was really hoping this generation would focus much more on things like physics, interaction, and dynamics, since those have much more of an impact on actual gameplay. Instead developers seem keen on just adding more polys and higher res textures. At least games like Red Dead and now Max Payne are bucking the trend and adding some innovation in the physics department.
