Loved the first 2 games and cannot wait to hear more on this!

I would like to see some gameplay before I judge this game. A new developer, a new engine (well, not new, but not created for this game alone), a new look, change of scenery. Anything less than the first two games is not acceptable.

Not much to say. First image looks like Kane and Lynch :P

Looking at the second image, did they re-design Max to his old look or is that "pre-bald-thick-beard" design?

Sath - I'd hazard a guess and say that's Max as an NYPD cop before his enforced 'holiday' in Brasil.

Yup, the game is very disjointed in it's narrative, you play flashbacks, and present day max throughout the campaign. I'm actually looking foward to it. My only worry is if euphoria will ruin the combat like it has done rdr and gta? I like weight in my shooters and i LOVE the physical reactions that euphoria brings, but the heavyness just takes the piss. It's like controlling a 400lb dude.

Did they update the engine? These screenshots looks a bit more detailed than before.

Is this ever going to see the light of day?

WOW, this game has been in development since 2004?!

Do we have another LA Noire on our hands? Will we get another Rockstar disgruntled workers story?

Jan. 2010: "The game's story just went through another total re-write earlier this month (the third that I am aware of in the past two years)..."

You shoot dudes

There is a cover mechanic

You play both present day max and 'classic' max

The game looks atmospheric and pretty nice visually

I must be missing something, but I only see a bald badguy in those shots. No bald Max Payne.

They're not very good shots for telling wtf is going on. One shot has odd "glass" broken and somebody getting gunned down by somebody. The other is better, because you can see Max, waiting for a badguy at the end of the hall. BUT... wtf are the red lines in the hallway!? Laser sights??? Also, why is their a door chain hanging next to Max's head, but NO DOOR, since he's standing in the hallway?!?

They should show trailer. These pics means nothing lol

I wonder if Rockstar have managed to get their internal Rage engine (GTA 4, Red Dead) to run any better on PS3 this time...

I hope they haven`t taken Max`s redesign `too far` like Ubisoft tend to do with Sam Fisher.......I mean although the old devs didn`t have much to play with for Max`s face in the first two games, (ManThatYouFear thinks he looks like he`s on the toilet in those titles rofl), they still need to maintain the look of Payne in my opinion.

It`s like having a new actor in to replace somebody who dropped out of a film series........it simply ruins the experience and immersion.

I just hope that you get to dive through stacked crates in slow motion whilst firing a barrage of deadly lead through the air before landing with both barrels smoking and thinking to yourself.........."Ooooh yeah baby!", just as the last dead bad-guy falls to the floor.

Wicked memories, but I hope that my nostalgia won`t ruin this installment.

Different studios within rockstar. Rockstar north are the guys who make GTA. Those guys havnt done anything since GTA4. They're working on agent and no doubt GTA5. Kinda like red dead redemption. That wasnt made by the people who made GTA, dispite what the box says.

Just found a new preview of the game here: http://www.gamertagradio.com/new/2011/08/max-payne...

Here are some of the highlights that were listed:

-The combination of Natural Motion’s Euphoria character behavior system and Bullet Time adds a new level to Max’s classic shoot-dodge moves. Shoot-dodge is not a canned animation, but a natural interaction with the environment, as Max will reach out to the floor as he dives, and naturally respond to objects in his way if you attempt to dive into a wall or obstacle
-This marriage of slow-motion gunplay and Euphoria physics amplifies the cinematic action of Max Payne 3 significantly, and enemies will also respond realistically to each bullet fired.
-James McCaffrey, the original voice of Max, is back. Not only as the voice of max, but Max’s appearance, face and many of his movements in Max Payne 3 are all captured directly from James himself.
-Tremendous detail has been paid to every facet of Max Payne 3: Bullets destroy nearly everything in the environment, sweat will appear on Max’s face and shirt as the heat of battle wears on, and blood soaks the clothing of his enemies. You’ll also notice the minute details of the weapons themselves: hammers cock back, slides move, shells expel from the chamber and literally hundreds more.

I LOVE the thought of bullet time married with Euphoria and a cover system. This sounds like the perfect third person shooter. Also love that they are bringing back McCaffrey for both voice and appearance.

The only thing I question is the part about sidekicks and partners. Max Payne games always seemed to be a solitary affair. I don't know how I feel about babysitting and having my buddies rob me of MY kills. Overall thought, I couldn't be much happier with their direction.

I like Sam Fisher "Conviction" design the best.
Double Agent however was too far lol.

Not entirely, there was quite a bit of sidekicks in Max Payne 2 such as Mona Sax, who was entirely playable in some levels. And there were escort missions, like that hilarious Baseball costume bomb one.

docLEXfisti Snatcher was awesome, played it on the European Mega CD (1 Hour ago)
  • droezelke
droezelke @Moonwalker: I agree. Other than the Metal Gear series, he didn't really present something as good. And I thought MGS5 was ultra boring (2 Hours ago)
  • nostradamus
nostradamus never played snatcher, but policenauts has a awesome scenario. (3 Hours ago)
  • b0vril
b0vril I never liked MGS series, but I loved 5 (3 Hours ago)
  • Tiz
Tiz @Moonwalker: 2 is the best Metal Gear Solid though. (3 Hours ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker Personally i find Kojima rather overrated. Yes MGS and MGS3 were fantastic, 2 wasn't nearly as good, same for 4 and 5....nah. (4 Hours ago)
  • nostradamus
nostradamus @jmd749: Kojima Productions is independent. wrap that and give it away to your other half. (5 Hours ago)
