Medal Of Honor: Airborne images

Medal Of Honor: Airborne images

EA released these 10 images of Medal of Honor: Airborne, to be released in September. It will have alot of though competition by a certain spartan, but I wonder if it could sell even without competition. Watching the trailers, seeing how EA promote the game by showing the player alone running towards the enemy - six of them, at least, without cover and then take them out, kind of make me doubt the whole thing. It's kind of sad, as this could (!) be one of the last current-gen WW2 FPS (ha!), and it still doesn't seem to evolve the WW2 genre at all.

You're right this IS last gen with a higher resolution. Just look at the horrible lightning (no shadows under the cars/behind the boxes?). By now any Dev should know that lightning make or brake the graphics... let's not talk about the gameplay... ^^

Oh my, motion-blur, bloom and bumpmapping really do a good job to MOH, the characters look amazing.

Ronaldo, you don't know what you're saying. You say this is bad because you're more into BiA.

I think it looks pretty good visually, but I'm not sure I can really get much into a new MoH game. This franchise stopped being relevant a long time ago.. maybe EA can bring it back from the dead. I'll give it a fair shot. I wonder just how open the world really is..

Cheap shots at COD though.. a franchise that has been pretty consistently awesome.. and COD4 looks/sounds like it's going to be amazing.

Why was my message considered 'boulet time' ?

No-one's taking cheap shots at CoD. It's an excellent game, but it's following a tunnel based streaming system as does GOW or any other upper tier next gen title. My point is that to make non-linear games that break free of this mold, we will need to make some compromises on the graphics. With that in mind, this still looks excellent.

Well that's true.. I mean.. just look at GTA.

Well, to put it simply; the train for this game already left.

Considering just how many people played COD3 (which is a horrible game), I doubt that's really true. There's plenty more room for WWII shooters.. so long as their good. Hour Of Victory on the other hand...

Not a big fan on their approach to violence though. War is hell.. let's make it.. less hell!

now i dont think the game is bringing much at all to the over played WW2 FPS sub genre. after that parachute drop its going to be like playing any other MoH game thats been and gone. visually however i think it looks pretty nice.

seagate40gb:
Who said I was talking about the graphics?
EA are talking about realism and freedom, but personally I couldn't care less if you can walk on a straight line through the whole map and kill all the enemies without cover or anything at all except a weapon. If you don't have to use cover, what do you have to use all that extra map for? There's no reason for a sneak attack or a flank there.
And, the graphics. We've always been spoiled with great graphics in the FPS genre, but all those have been taken place in space or a distant future. Strangely enough, there hasn't been that many impressive WW2 games. COD2 looked quite good though. (But again, I was never talking about graphics in the news)
I mentioned "not evolving the genre", and you assumed "OMG graphics?!?!?". I find that strange.

Apparently EA has a new "light vomit" technology that really drives home their anti-war message.

However, you can drop anywhere on the battlefield... ... NOW WITH SLOWDOWNS!! Argh, I couldn't resist! Please don't hate me EA!

Oh no! Not another one!

Do we really need a button to take cover in FPS games? I've been doing it for years and years before this trend ever happened. Duck behind a sandbag, go prone, there.. you've got your cover.

Or more to the point.. cover is for wimps :P

pr twist: Just put an "anti-war logo" on a war game with bad production values :"we make them crap, so you can feel the real war"

Same old s#%t with good graphics. but that randon parachute dropage sounds interesting. I doubt it will be any better than the CoD games.

The only thing, which seems good to me,are the visuals.Nothing more, nothing less...

I'm sick of WW2 games, but i've always held a candle in my heart for Medal of Honour, it was always the best in my opinion, i'm looking forward to taking the beach from the other side :D

I think it looks fantastic, day one purchase. I just don't like the "health pack" idea... that's so last-gen.
