It's missing something.
I mean it.
Character movement/animation and AI are what I'm most concerned about in this game.
This game will no doubt be a lot of fun to play thru, but yeah that "thing it's missing", is a new game engine. It's being held back by it's same ps2 game engine, just with better graphics. They should've taken the time and effort to create it from the ground up, like Ghost Recon or Rainbow Six Vegas.

but iam still finding this game awesome ,but i hope for the next mercanaries they will use a true next gen engine.

GTAIV would have been a better example of rebuilding an engine completely.
There is something that is putting me off from this game. It's all about explosions and destruction (non-dynamic from what i've seen). But I'm missing an inspired form of gameplay. Something that makes you feel like you're in a compelling story. To me this game looks more about 'hey, just mess around for the fun of it'.

Doesn't GRAW still use a modified GR2 engine for the multiplayer aspect, whereas RS:V uses UE3 - hardly shining examples of being built from the ground up.

GTA4 was great, but watch Niko carjack someone and then watch CJ from GTA:SA carjack someone. That's just one example, but it's pretty obvious it's still the same game engine, just with better graphics and the Euphoria physics system in place. GTA4 just did a much better job of making improvements and changes from the last game than Mercenaries 2 seems to be doing.
