First 10 minutes PSP

For once on Gamersyde, here is a homemade video of a PSP title that our good friend DjMizuhara captured for you guys. And it's not just any game as it is Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, the real MGS 5 according to Kojima himself. More will come soon if you behave.
Update: 3 videos added, among which the first 10 minutes of the game.

Metal Gear Solid 5? For that I would need to accept 4 as a real MGS and not having that shitty story that makes me want to erase it from my memory with a butcher knife.
Do a Real continuation to MGS2, kojima, then we'll talk.

That's not the first level right? Would be quite an awkward start if so...

MGS 3 had the most memorable story imo, with awesome boss characters. I have high expectations from this one but handheld consoles = evil. Especially when when sucessful IP's like MGS goes from superior system to inferior system. It's like forcing people to ride donkeys instead of using a car. I like spinoffs for handhelds like Dissidia but for the love of god don't do sequels for it....

I just want to bash my PS3 on Hideo Kojima's head...

At least. This game deserved some news here, even if it is an handheld game.
I played the demo many times and it feels really good to play. I will definately get this on day one.

@DeadHat: If you hate it so much to play on PSP, you can connect the PSP to a HD TV.... At least the PSP Slim.

Would have been great, if it came out for PS3, but well, here it is. At least finally a really good title for PSP (Portable ops was too boring...)
It is the (real) sequel to MGS3, what may have been the best title of this franchise yet, added gameplay elements from MGS4, what turns out pretty good, and an improved base-system. (The base system of portable ops was ok, but not really good)
It has nice graphics for the PSP, is portable, as said, you can still play PSP on your HD TV and it has a story-linked coop mode. I think it might become the perfect game for PSP. (Famitsu approves) It's contend seems to be really big.

And btw. imo, MGS4 was one of the best games and it's story WAS good. The only prob it had, was that it had to iron out those sometimes stupid story-flaws from MGS2. But thats really not MGS4's fault. (still imo)

I am really looking forward to this game and I think the series get better and better, since MGS2, that was not as good as MGS1 imo... I see portable ops more like a affectedly spin-off for the PSP.

I'm so damned excited for this game. I don't know why people are complaining about it being on PSP. If you wanted a full blown PS3 sequel, then you wouldn't see the game taking the kinds of risks that its taking, like co-op play. You also wouldn't see a release until next year at the earliest.

@Anvil; no that wasn't the first level. When I recorded yesterday I noticed that audio and video were totally outta sync when I was trying to edit. So the 5 hours I played yesterday were a total waste of time. I've re-recorded the 1st 10 minutes and I've uploaded it to the server as well as 2 other videos, they'll be online soon.

The demo looked great given the ancient hardware it's running on, but the controls really were beyond annoying. Having to aim with the face buttons simply doesn't work, - it's incredibly clumsy and archaic. Kojima should have gone for some sort of pure auto aim system instead, or just stopped wasting his time on dead handhelds and focussed on the Raiden spin-off instead.

@moroboshi: I didn't test the other control setting, but you can change control setting and play with autoaim. But I really prefer the shooter type.
The controls are the best possible for PSP, and maybe the implement full control settings in the fullversion, like portable ops had...

I'm looking much more forward to peacewalker than Rising. I don't if the storyline of rising could be good at all. If Kojima was included here more, that might be different...

I didn't know that. Anyway, I'm still stuck playing on the PSP. I'd rather import the game to a PS3, ou have it ported to a PS2.

I don't care about MGS: Rising, but this is something I really wanted to have. And with the best tech available!

And totally agree. MGS2 had a clumsy story MGS4 made up for. MGS4 is awesome.

tell me about it, most convoluted BS story out of the series and you play as girly boy raiden for 99% of it. maybe that's why he liked it the most?

@KORNdog: That's mean^^;

@DeadHat: But you'll need a composite cable and a PSP slim. (It has a video out next to the micro-out)
But I approve, it's a bit annoying, that we'll have to enjoy this promising part of MGS-story-line on a handheld, or if connected on an HD TV, with really aliased ´graphics...

MGS2 had it's good parts too, like the graphics, smooth gameplay, the mindbreaking end-part... and even the unpopular girly Raiden changes alot at the end
but there are just too many bad parts compared to the other titles, like playing as a character you don't like too much, story-wise stupid enemies and Liquid living on through his arm...

But altogether the atmospheric MGS1 with it's characters was better, the movie-like MGS3 with it's beautiful hidden love story was better and the getting-more-epic-each-chapter-MGS4 was better. And this one looks so promising.

The best part of MGS2 is the Tanker, no doubt about it. And the very stupid (because it's totally unfair battle) but extremely awesome scene where Snake breaks the handcuffs and swims after Metal Gear RAY.

MGS3 is on a whole different league! Probably the best of the series! That's why this PSP outing is even worse! I want my Full HD Big Boss.

And man, I'm glad MGS4 decided to say Liquid did die and Ocelot was just impersonating him. The arm was the worst plot device ever.

Sorry for the rant.

People complained about Resistance Retribution doing that instead of face button aiming.

I don't know... Maybe if the stick was more responsive i'd like movement with the face buttons and aiming with the stick. But it's a little thing that barely serves it's purpose, haven't played the demo (don't own a PSP, but my friend and nephew have one), i hope it has autoaim too like some guy above said.
