San Francisco's GDC allowed Hideo Kojima to officially announce that Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain were actually just one game: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. A trailer was shown to prove how impressive FOX Engine is, but until we can get our hands on a proper version, here are a bunch of images of the game. Snake's new adventure is still planned for a PS3 and Xbox 360 release.

Big Boss in next gen, very nice!
I hope they have MGS4 or modernized controls to make it playable since older MGS games was gamebreaking to me.

Also...Kiefer Sutherland's voice is in it!

I'm shocked..and saddened that David Hayter won't be voicing Big Boss/Solid Snake for The Phantom Pain. His official twitter account just confirmed, he wasn't even asked. :(

If this is trully what it will look like on PS3, then that is pretty incredible. It looks fantastic, and seeing the engine in action, would be easy to "pretty it up" for an even better looking next gen release. Day 1 easily.

Voice sucks. Almost to a point i don't even want to play it. No hayter is a massive deal for me. He IS snake. Just like nolan north IS drake. To change his oice after so many years, and him not even being asked to do it, is almost insulting.

On the plus side, the engine looks impressive...

Not quite confirmed. The Japanese voice actor of Snake/Big Boss voiced the Ground Zeroes Trailer. It could be that the guy voicing Snake in the hospital demo was temporary. But then again, I'm pretty sure I heard the actual voice of Kaz Miller in this new trailer.. which begs the reason why David Hayter wasn't asked.
Perhaps the demo is old (and has no Kaz) and since Snake doesnt speak at all in the trailer, they only called in Kaz's voice actor.

eh, voices on MGS were always meh when you have to go through the boredom of staying awake trough the debriefings and try to understand half of kojima logics, to give a damn abut the delivery of the lines. I be the japanese dub is pretty neat.

Apparently there is some hope regarding the voice actor. MGrising went through a similar situation with raidens voice actor. Wasn't until last minute that he got asked to do it. So maybe....hopefully, whoever is doing the voice now is placeholder.

Why? Who decides which MGSs launch on MS's console?!

Release either all, or none of them. This every now and then releases make no sense with a game as story-driven as MGS!

Considering how secretive this whole project has been, it wouldn't surprise me if they asked David Hayter to deny that he's working on it. It seems crazy that they wouldn't use him again.

You know Big Boss is getting old, don't you? SO, eventually, his voice will turn to Richard Doyle instead David Hayter. Now, Kojima never did voices placeholders in both languages, as far as I know of. So, I don't really know what to expect.

Your argument could also apply to the PS3 MGS4, seeing as how MGS1/MGS2&3/and MGS4 were all launched on different platforms. Its just nonsensical. and on top of that, you are forgetting that MGS 2 and 3 (and PW) were released on xbox 360 via HD Remaster.
