No it wasn't. Neither is this one. I'm really disappointed in Danger Close. They had a real opportunity here, and all they've done is build on top of the rushed job that DICE built for them in the first game. This isn't the debut I had hoped for.

Close the thread, Grift said this game is not good.

I'm sure millions of people will buy it anyway. But it's not.

you played it or you judging by the trailer?

Played an earlier beta. I just don't like it. It could have improved a lot too, but I think there are a lot of things that are fundamentally bad about their approach. They hijacked BF3's movement, but changed some of the timing and shortened a few animations.. so that sorta feels extremely funky (and a little broken) to anyone who has played the other game. And it just has a bit of an identity crisis I think. The game doesn't seem to know what it wants to be. It feels stuck between Call of Duty and Battlefield. I just don't have a lot of confidence in this developer now. Maybe the campaign is cool.

But hey.. if you have a 360 try it for yourself. I'm sure other people will like it.

Eh, BF3 movement? minus 1 point for me.

But most importantly, as long as gunplay and hit detection isnt as crap as BF3 my interest is still attached, oh and crappy bulletsponge since its my enemy in shooters lol.
But from what i seen in videos, the gunplay seems to be better than BF3 IMO, and has less crazy recoil which is good.

Now I have a 360 but i refuse to pay for XBL Gold, so I am hoping for a PS3/PC beta before release, if not...well I got to go by youtube beta videos.

dont hold your breath for PS3/PC beta, no announcement and the game comes out this month.. so yeah, zero chance of that happening

i love BF3 so maybe i will like this too then. but for a game focused on close quarter combat (this seems to be), i hope the movement and aiming is smoother then BF3

cant wait to try the beta, it will decide it for me as to if i buy it. not in my pre order list atm

Yeah i am not holding my breath for anything, but since MoH is always focused on close quarters which i like thats one reason to be interested since i hate big maps, especially with vehicles in them.
I also agree that they HAVE to have much better controls than BF3 for this game since the maps will be smaller and such a thing is needed. Hopefully you can give me impressions on the controls and do a comparison since thats all I care for really :)

BF3:CQ is much faster paced and much more fun than anything I got to see in MoH.

Beta is good!!!! Quite surprised!

hmm i actually love this game, shooting is smooth and the game doesnt stand in your way of getting kills. it just works. my only problem is spawns and 1 map only atm. but its certainly making me want to pre order

Your going by a Beta for your overall judgement of a game? Well done! Kidding really as it's something that you would probably say on here ;P

Pretty much this. The gunplay and controls are lacking to say the least. It lacks the feedback and the rawness you get from BF3 guns, which I love, and it lacks the snappiness of CoD gunplay to entertain me as a "720no-scopeheadshotshooter".

This is silly. You do know that BF3 has some very tight close quarters maps, don't you? CQ there works just as well as in any CoD (imo it's better but I'm biased).

MoH just feels sluggish. The ADS speed is slow (could be the ACOG, but it's still slower than BF3/CoD), sensitivity settings are atrocious (turned it up to eleven and I'm feeling like I play on 1/3 of BF3s sensitivity) and it seems like they have extremely intrusive and irritating aiming assists. Not only do you get a "soft" lock on, which by itself is fine if done right (not here though), but you also seem to get something akin to the mouse acceleration smoothing that is so en vogue with PC shooters these days.

Another totally offending mechanic is the bullet deviation which is totally overdone and inappropriate for a shooter with zero recoil. This makes the game more campy than it needs to be since it makes head glitching more effective and ranged engagements a chore.

i do, I have the DLC.
It doesnt work very well with the bad controls and crappy hit detection the game has.
Commented on 2012-10-06 17:02:43
They are perfect for me, maybe you should turn up your sensitivity.

I have tried it, it still doesnt change the sluggishness. I am playing on consoles just so you know. on PC it might be different.
I just dont like it when a game has alot of gun wobbling and screen moving, its annoying and disorienting.

I have heard it from different people the same, hell, if Elpresador says controls are way better than BF3 and its close to COD controls then that means i will like it lol

Yep it's like a really refined BF3, And he's moaning it's slower than COD...slower than COD is never going to be a bad thing!

I like this post. I'm not shocked people actually like this game though.

lol... you know El Presador is a joke character/troll, right?

Is it really that hard to grasp the idea that this might be a little better than BF3?

Just asking, anything can happen you know, I haven't played either one but Im just posting because some people here are a little biased towards BF3 that's all.

Yes. I've played it. It's far worse.

And what's the big deal? I like Viginti's post because he actually sounds like he knows what he's talking about. That's refreshing. And you haven't played either, but you just have a problem with me having an opinion about it, I guess.

Cute.
