Page 1 2 >>Please don't think I'm hating on the game. I just don't ever see why people are so amped for this style of game. Dead Space was an amazing game last year, but you had little reason to play it more than once or twice and it was pretty short. Loved the game, but the love affair didn't last too long.
The gameplay is fun, but it's a pretty short game with no multiplayer and no real replay value other than trying a harder mode.

I guess people just look for different things in a game. I personally don't mind whether a game offers that much replay value or not, so long as the initial experience is awesome enough to warrant its purchase - and, if it is, chances are I'll be playing through it again anyway.

GOW3 rapes the s**t out of DI
:)
LOOOOL, get back to your 360 games.
Really though, those shots are from cutscenes and they look good but you won't see that while mowing down enemies, the shots here on GSY are probably way more representative of what you'll see when actually PLAYING the game rather than doing some QTE or watching a cutscene. Thinking otherwise is just fooling yourself, we all saw the gameplay trailer. You've cut out the parts that are cutscenes (except for those two that look arguably crappier and less cinematic than the rest).

IMO you have not played it.
The time you get out of God of War is probably short compared to some FPS with a multi player component but then again, taking up a comparison like that is just silly.
HugaMuga: You obviously read my post but the actual content of it was something you missed altogether. Read it again and try to figure out where you went wrong :P
yes and it looks jaw dropping :P the details in this game and Uncharted 2 no game on any console touched that.
But the epic scale, story and music is still there as one of the best or the best within the genre so far.
Visually, the screens look good, but in motion it looks much better.
Player loses control over Kratos, the camera swivels to very cinematic angles and we get some animation that the player has no control over. Hardly gameplay if you ask me. It's realtime but it's not player controlled and thus it's much easier to make it look way more impressive. That's all i'm saying. The game doesn't look bad i just don't think it looks jaw dropping.
God of War 3 doesn't offer anything exciting in gameplay at all. Just more of the same, nothing evolutionary. (like NG1 to NG2 combat system)
It WILL be a good game, a good sequel, people who love the fist ones are bound to love this, but more of the same with so little of freshness in each one of the iterations its just normal people start to feel a little tired. Just like Devil May Cry 4.... people got sick of it and are eager for new things(Bayonetta).
I look forward to Dante's Inferno for that, not that its proven better, or that it doesn't look worse or wathever, it just feels a really good alternative... and a NEW one.
Short game my ass, personally i think there one of the biggest hack n slash games out there
IMO you have not played it.
Ninja Gaiden however, that was an atypical large game for the action genera.
Christmas 2009? Wasn't it march 2010?
