PS3

In the case of LittleBigPlanet (Playstation 3), I think you will agree with me that there are never enough videos for it. Here's another one which is still warm, be careful to not burn your eyes while watching, it just got taken from the oven. For the first time, we see creatures and how to add a mission structure to your creations. A delight!

I especially can't wait to see what kind of levels the Japanese players create. User content's going to decide whether or not I buy the game, ultimately.

rumour is september, and considering in a vid the guy says they have a lot of work to do on the game, i think that sounds about right. its a long way off, but i dont want this thing rushed.

Most significant release for the PS3 will be this game.

This will turn gaming on its head, and close the gap on 360 and Wii, if it can be as good of full game experience as all the videos would have us believe.

Forget MGS4, this game if it lives up to what we've seen so far will be the killer app for ps3, I'm sure MS will try to make a quick clone to try and cash in too. If they don't they are fools.

Big Big possibilities here. This is the one and only game on PS3 that I'm envious of.

Personally, I seriously doubt it. This will just be one of this games that gets cult recognition form long-time gamers rather than actual commercial success or shifting any consoles. I also think it's something that would have been more suited to Wii but credit must go to Sony for supporting such an inventive and creative game.
Will Nintendo and MS copy this? No.
Will I buy it? I need a demo first...

I have to disagree. This will be this years breath of fresh air, innovative "Portal" for 2008. I see this being possible as big as a game as something like the Sims or Spore might perhaps be, to the large casual gaming audience. I don't see this selling the same percentage of copies per console as say Viva Pinata. VP was a casual game that had a nice style, that had a cult following of sorts that didn't live or sell to its potential. This will not end up like Viva Pinata I don't think, this one will be much bigger for Sony than VP was for MS. MS wanting to tap into the casual market as they are so famous for periodically saying and never following through should be copying this game.

This is just delicious. Absolutely going to have to start a ps3 fund just for this very game. Can't wait.

Good god the possibilities are endless. So exciting.

I just watched the videos and smiled it looks awesome, definitely a system seller as long as the control scheme isn't too complicated

The current bubble used to pick items looks over complicated though and cluttered which could put casuals off

I would prefer almost like a store where sack man runs in grabs an object and uses it instead of layers of menus

Yeahhhh, it's going to take A LOT of games for that to happen. By the time this comes out it may be too late to catch up this generation. The PS3 has good content coming, but this time around they are suffering for making consumers wait. Can't talk their ways out of this one.

You know what? first of all I'm gonna make an uber beautiful, HD, physics based version of Super Paper Mario... but that's just the start, a cell-phone-esque splinter-cell like MGS title maybe next... but BIGGEST of 'em all is going to be a Mortal Kombat RPG.......there, I said it !!!

I'd love to see him try making a SD version, lol :D

Farooq: you need to get your head out of the clouds man, you won't be able to make full games with LBP, just your own levels in the game. If you are so hot for making games why haven't you learned programming or an application like GM? Trust me, you'll get better results there than with LBP.

That said, LBP looks raelly fun and creative. Well...i've allready said what i think in all other threads relating to this game so i won't do it again. Looks great.

as much as i love the videos of this game, i seriously doubt it will have the impact some here seem to be so sure about.
the "casual" gamer (i.e. NON-gamer) doesn`t want to shuffle through billions of menus/items to create what`s basically a jump-n-run with nice graphics.
what i`ve seen so far about the game it`s all pre-fab parts without any "programming abilities", so your options will be quite limited. of course the average gamer doesn`t WANT to program anyway, but i think it will be something similar to incredible mashine. that game was fun for a while, but when you had completed it there was no great "urge" to create own levels. (at least that`s my experience)

there will be a small community/cult following for sure, but i don`t see it selling major ps3 quantities. i could be wrong though.... :)
it`s too far off to make any good predictions anyway ^_^

The casual consumer/gamer doesn't spend $400-$500 on a gaming rig. I believe this game will be really good, and a much needed innovation in an ever-stagnant industry. That said, if it were on say Wii, who has a death-lock on the casual/family market, it could serve as a significant turning-point in game development.
