More videos of Forza 5

Since BlimBlim is now not the only member of the team to possess a 1080p/60fps capture card, we've decided to show you a bit more next gen gameplay footage this month. Let's start with Forza Motorsport 5, which may be short on tracks, but is nonetheless quite an impressive launch title in many respects. This time, we recorded some external view footage and some replays to add to the usual cockpit and hood views. To realize the quality of our new equipment, we strongly advise you take the time to download the videos instead of simply streaming them. Enjoy!

graphics wise it is beautiful, especially in cock-pit view.. just wish they could have used AA

This game conveys the sense of speed in an F1 car better than Codemasters' F1 games.

This is the first Forza game I like. The gameplay is great. The haptic feedback is a huge plus. But f*** MS and Turn10 for the stupid and disgusting paywall called microtransactions (they call it 'economy system,).

Hmm that's odd, having just put in a few hours into F1 2013 I felt like this F5 F1 video seemed a bit slow. The game looks awesome though.

But are there things in these microtransactions that you otherwise can't get? I would hate that. But if i can unlock them myself eventually....i don't mind. It's still shitty though.

"Eventually," yes. Just like any free-to-play game! It's basically a bargain, and totally not a scam!

I think they halved the credit requirements after the internet freaked out. It's still kinda abusive. And before people start crying fanboy: GT6 is less abusive but it's still wrong for a $60 game to have this kind of real money economy. They can move that goal post whenever they want. And they will continue to move it against the interest of the consumer, so far as they can get away with it.

Pretty scummy stuff. But hey! It's "optional!" :|

If you can earn the items or upgrades in-game, then it's not a paywall. It's a cheat for lazy gamers. Kinda like the old game genies. Some people paid for those, most didn't. Same thing here. If it's optional, stop whining about it.

No.

They really rushed it and 50$ for 50 cars and microtransation is pretty bad. But since this series in not too popular they are trying to make money which ever way they can

No. Never.
They made it so hard to earn credits, that the game becomes tedious, unless you pay up to 80 euro for 1 fucking car. If you think Forza 5 is still the same like Forza 4 in that regard, than you are blind to see what MS is trying to do. Sell full priced games, make it a grind fest until you hate the game and in that way try to force you into buying seriously overpriced dlc so you could enjoy the game again.
I will continue to bash this practice as long as it exists. If we don't, then I assure you, the game industry will implode. And maybe it should.

I have the game, play the game and have not had the feeling of "grinding" you all have. Maybe I'm not playing right. Sorry for expressing a dissimilar perspective.

Is it a grind when the racing and hot lapping in rivals is so much fun? Not for me!

Not too popular? Okkkkkkk.

Anyways, the sad problem with microtransactions and whatnot is the obvious, it is there because enough people buy into it. It's a sad situation, that will slowly pull me away from gaming even.

Every time I see a gameplay video of FM, I want to go out there and buy an X1 and FM5, but you got to draw a line, and mine is set. I'm not supporting a racing game with 12 freaking tracks (so they can try to squeeze some more later on when they sell them as DLC), and more importantly this microtransaction bullshit.

Sadly, not enough people speak with their wallet. Some of these launch games are/will be multimilllion sales games *ONLY* because they are launch titles (see RYSE). That in itself is also very sad. It's safe to say enough gamers are stupid that this kind of stuff just keeps happening.

I'll skip this Forza and X1 for now, I hope FM6 is better with this crap, otherwise I might as well skip on console racing games for good (GT6 is also doing this crap now).

EDIT: Replays are good, almost GT level of quality there

Ive sunk 50 hours in this game so far. The ONLY thing for me to complain about is the lack of tracks. Everything else is superb. Best racing game Ive ever played. The actual races feel so alive and actually engage you unlike racers have never been able to before.

Indeed, in terms of gameplay, it is the best racer to cross my path. Knowing that I never liked Forza, that means a lot.
But imagine how much better it could have been without the microtransactions, the low amount of tracks, the constant reminder to buy with credits or tokens, the day 1 dlc. It could have been a true classic that would be very hard to beat for a couple of years.

when F1 on the 360 is at 30 fps and this is 60 fps any PC gamer will tell you to try going back to 30 fps, it just feels slow and cumbersome which is why FM5 gives you the better impression of speed.

I hear you. Tracks are what i need the most in any racer to continue to play, and the small amount that Forza 5 has is an issue. However, the micro transactions dont bother me one bit. I dont notice "the constant reminder to buy more" and never purchased any...never will. I simply play the game and ignore the credits. As long as im not forced to buy then all is well. I signed up for the Forza Reward program and received over 5 million thus far and a car...working on another million...so ive been great with money to buy my own. I think Turn 10 will adjust and hopefully Forza 6 brings back all past tracks (including NY) and then some. I also expect more micros, but better balance with the payouts.
