Need For Speed Rivals being part of the next gen line-up, we're keeping a close eye on it, even though we can't say we've always loved the recent episodes which have been released in the past few years. Tonight, EA sent us a bunch of images and a new trailer called Progression & Pursuit Tech.

Looking forward to this. Only next gen racer i'm buying. Looks fun, and seems to be taking the best elements from most wanted and hot pursuit and chucking them into one game.

It's the best of those games combined. Cops and robbers/ability driven racing of hot pursuit. With the open world, day/night, weather, MP shenanigans of most wanted. On paper, sounds perfect. Looks sweet as hell. Now it just needs to be released.

Thats why you don't buy them all and pick and choose the best one. In case of current gen, Hot persuit. The best arcade racer next to motorstorm. I can see your point if you just blindly picked them all up though, but that's fifa/cod mentality...retarded. But this is the closest we're gonna get to a burnout sequel. And as far as next gen racing goes, It's the only one that looks...you know....fun.

This series is certainly the call of duty of racing games. One or every year and the same select ideas rehashed in slightly different combinations. Its like a game made by Michael Bay only maybe more retarded unnecessary explosions etc. This series just reminds me too much of the adhd mountain dew kids.

Ill take forza over this any day (or I would if I was buying an Xbox one) but for anyone who doesn't love cars or the more realistic style of Forza or too impatient to learn I guess this could be a decent fix if the over the top cheesy arcade thing is your cup of tea. The vids just make this seem a little too silly for my taste. Also racing at 30 fps is not really that great.

Not looking too good at all.

The three best car games to choice from if you have either platform are Forza (XBOX), Project cars (PC), and GT (PS).

Need for Speed is turning out to be like a COD cash grab. some of them are fun but they're just too many and they always have a hand full of cars to pick from.

The more i see this the more i want might just preorder afterall, Those talking about Forza...This is a totally different game and one that will sit alongside Forza perfectly due to how different it is....This is more inline with other arcarde racers The Crew & Driveclub.

I know what you mean about a good arcade racer to compliment a game like Forza or gt series, but I just feel like this series is just getting more and more carried away. Nfs underground and most wanted were fun when they felt a little more fresh. I just don't think this looks like a game I could stay interested in for very long.
Now pgr series was a great arcade racer so is dirt, that is a little closer to what I see as the ideal middleground I guess but just my opinion.

As for dc and forza they may not be as visually stunning as one might want (no launch game is) but forza will just be an even more improved version of the already top of its class racing experience with near perfect gameplay and awesome AI etc. As for dc the videos have been a little all over the place so it's really hard to say with that one. Korn used to hype it as the next pgr so if that actually happened obviously I would be happy.

I may have a bad taste but Rivals is the only racing game i am looking forward to this fall. Looks expensive, polished and most importantly fun. Forza, Driveclub or GT6 bore me to death. If you strive for racing experience then apply to your local club, there are plenty in every city unless you are poor or underaged.
