Electronic Arts concludes a week rich in car games action by lifting the curtain on Need for Speed: Shift's drift mode. As we learn by watching the video feature and the twelve screenshots we offer you today, the american giant has hired a professional of the discipline to ensure a result as realist and spectacular as possible. Well, looks like they nailed it.

Ffs. Nobody cares about this stuff.. I thought it was gameplay by judging from the thumbs. Not wearing my lenses, and having my screen 10 meters away from me.

Gameplay video in the footage looked really nice, the Mustang screenshots are really nice too, really well done smoke effects. Shame Forza 3 fans get so upset and threatened by this game.

Forza > NFS mkay? history has shown us again and again that, one NFS game after the other looking fecking awesome on ss and videos, but when the poop comes out, its just.... shit.

Forza motorsport is a working concept, and its way better than the last... what 5 NFS games? or even more. Forza 3 will be more awesome than any NFS could ever hope for. Its all guessing since none of the games is out, but from what ive seem the last 3 years, forza will be better. ;)

NFS is shit untill they can prove otherwise. They havent been able to since NFSU 1.

Um i'd say that having a real drifter give feedback to the game's physics programmer is a pretty big deal that most of us do care about..

This looks superb so far. What's with all the a > b > c in the thread. If you genuinely like racing, there's so much to look forward to. GT5 (maybe this year who knows), FM3 and tbh this too. Looks like a welcome reboot of the series. All media released to date is surprisingly fresh in terms of a new experience focused on a more personal driving feel, such as cams not linked to the chassis.

Can't wait for this Autumn.

Man, they really should have named it something other than Need For Speed. NFS Nitro is more down the line for NFS fans, so they should probably skip this game and buy a Wii instead.

Shift on the other hand, looks like game for us who don't give a shit about how many polygons the trees have on the side of the track, but only want to race with some proper cars, on proper tracks with proper physics.

not so interested in the drifting element. if i can avoid it as part of the wider career mode, i'll do so.

yea im not a fan of racing games that 'force' you to go through all the disciplines in career mode. it should be an option but not mandatory. not everyone is interested in drifting per se. kinda hated having to do truck races and rally cross in Dirt and um this other racing game whose name escapes me... Race Driver! thats it. Anyway, hopefully Shift won't make us do it.

its rare to see footage of ps3 version getting shown, 90% of the time all footage is 360, but thanks for your concern next time dont bother
