New DLC for Killzone 2

New DLC for Killzone 2

Sony has just confirmed that Killzone 2 will get some new DLC. Two new maps - Suljeva Cliffside and Arctower Landing - will be added as well as two weapons from the single player campaign. You will now be able to organize some friendly barbecues with the flamethrower or simply have your guests freshen up with the boltgun. A patch fixing some of the minor bugs left in the multiplayer is also planned on July 14.

Hands down the best shooter of this console generation by far, and it just keeps getting better :D

So, are these weapons exclusive to this DLC? I have to hand it to them, they had this planned waaay in advance, and probably are already done with the $5.99 special for next month... I'm probably going to pay it again to, because the killzone engine is one of the more remarkable things in gaming today... but not only is this suspect, there is bound to be a value pack soon that makes buying these monthly a rip.

Aw well, I took my chances with Guerrilla, and if they are just as sneaky as Bungie and Epic.. so be it, I'm doing it for the graphics!

As much as I like the Napalm/flamethrower gun-play, I actually got bored of this one :P I don't think I even finished it. Anyway, very pretty game and all- I did like the over all design(except the dropships, which I'm convinced were designed by a drunken munkey)...

Yeah I was pretty pumped to get KZ2 but the demo cut down my enthusiasm. I'm wondering if I should still get it...

Yeah, they should've never released the demo for this game. It probably hurt sales more than it helped, and gave everyone a bad impression of the sluggish controls. They've released a couple patches now that really fine-tuned the controls to where they're much better now.

I didn't know they had a patch to fix the pretty poor excuse controls. They really kept the multiplayer part of the game from reaching the standards of games like Unreal, Halo, and Call of Duty. I'll have to put the game back in and see how much better it feels now.

The maps look ok but I'm still hoping for a larger group of maps as the old ones aren't fun at all anymore.

As for the guy saying "best shooter this gen so far"....WTF???? How could anyone compare this game to the near perfect Call of Duty 4???? I just don't get how anyone could compare the two. Unless fanboyism is the primary reason.

Anyhow, good for the KZ fans that they are getting more reasons to put the game back in the PS3.

Their DLC needs to be cheaper.

I wouldn't say Cod 4 is near perfect but its a damn fine shooter on and offline. The little things...they make that game shine, like the way you shoot someone and you actually hear the sound of bullets impacting, the way the cross-hair changes when you shoot someone, the lovely sound of headshot, the smoothness of the game, the weapons (on HC-mode), the way it can be played in a party, the levels. The game just works, and runs nicely. A joy to play.

Right up there with COD4 IMO, controls might seem sluggish along with the movement but you will soon get used to that!

Nope. The fanboy kiddies might, but non fanboy adults pretty much agree CoD 4 had the most balanced and well made online shooter experience this gen so far. Saying Killzone 2 is better is just sad. Better graphics, but the gameplay and design's best parts are all borrowed from better games.

I've never met a hardcore shooter fan who says Killzone 2 is the ultimate shooter, but I know a LOT of ppl who would laugh at that person if he did....

Doom_Bringer @GriftGFX: well Dragon age extracted is suppose to be arround 20 gigs but the download was only 8 gigs or 15 gigs...procedure might be different for newer games (6 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX 45 minutes for this game would have to be like... 3+ megabytes per second. My Comcast can't do that. (7 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX My FFOW DL is almost 12.9 gigs and like 95% done. (7 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Steam appears to download extracted and installed, there's no install process once you finish downloading a game. (7 Hours ago)
  • Doom_Bringer
Doom_Bringer D2D file right now is 9.2 GB's. I think it was less when I was downloading it (now its extracted) I am pretty sure Steam works the same way. 12 gb is probably the extracted size :P (7 Hours ago)
