I've finally put online what should be a debugged (hopefully) version of the flash streaming video player. The design of the old one was really showing its age (not even mentioning every other site uses it too), and the new one looks sooo much better. Please let us know if there is any problem!

Cant test it right now. my work PC doesnt even have Flash player 9 installed. it's got an early version (7 I think) so the player isnt working for me right now. will let you know when I get back at home! keep the good stuff coming! :D

I really should add a way to detect the flash version and "downgrade" to the old player in that case. I'll do that tonight.

As for function, i really didn't notice much difference. However i think i like the look of the old player better. It was a bit less obtrusive.

Yeah, that would be perfect actually. some might not be able to know what's wrong if the player doesnt show up :)

Not in this thread. just go to the Need for Speed thread on the front page and click on the streaming video link and you will see the player :)

Okay Blim, I'm having one issue with the player.

Anytime my cursor enters the volume sector, the slider automatically follows my cursor, whether I click it or not.

NOT GOOD, but otherwise this player is a sex machine.

I tried it here (Firefox 2.0.0.8, Ubuntu 7.04, latest flash) and such bug doesn't happen, UNLESS (which is a Flash's fault actually, happens on other sites too) you click on the volume level button, hold it and drop your click outside the player.

Otherwise, this player is awesome. Only issue I had (major issue) is it's taking WAY too long to load the video, so I just gave up. You guys need to improve you bandwidth. :)
