New images of Homefront

New images of Homefront

THQ just released a bunch of new images of Homefront, their upcoming FPS. The presentation we went to in Cologne last August seemed to show quite a promising game, but whether it will have the strength to measure up to the Call of Duty franchise still remains to be seen.

If this is done right, with the civilians and other dramatic story beats, then the game would stand out from other FPSs. A Red Dawn game that's impactful.

But then SC: CONVICTION did it extremely well with the Washington Down Street level, where it echoed a lot of haunting memories of 9/11.

reminds me a lot of half life visually. i think it's the low-res textures. but still, it look ok. not excited about it, but might give it a go whenever it happens to be released.

If this is more Half Life than Call of Duty, then I'll be interested.

GriftGFX Then you start getting into proprietary software hell and potentially preventing other developers from writing innovative software solutions themselves. It's a WEIRD idea. (2 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX and game engine graphics pipelines or even programming interfaces for their products. None of that is their role in the whole thing.. and it shouldn't be. (2 Hours ago)

GriftGFX @Sdarts: Nvidia and AMD already do help developers with optimization more than they should have to. Nvidia and AMD should be improving the hardware and driver end of the technology and not worrying (2 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Nvidia and AMD don't even provide the API for their graphics cards. That would be the next layer between the developer and the video card. DirectX. (2 Hours ago)
