The most unforgiving game in the world. But also the most rewarding game. I still haven't finished Demon's souls.

Yay for more colors!

I hope this time they add a much better character creation and please add ambient music during explorations and battle music for the bosses.

Other than that, very nice game.

This infectious notion of Demon souls being a rewarding game is simply stockholm syndrome. The games archaically flawed. Slow clumbsy controls. And a gameplay mechanic based purely on trial and error (something more commercially successful games have instantly been picked apart on in the passed). The game's a throw back to the NES days. Infact it reminded me alot of Dragons Liar.

Not to say there isn't a true gem hidden away in there. I loved the look of it, and i love the look of this new one. And how it incorporated online was a great innovation.

I still want to play this.

@bleached: well, they promised an even harder game than Demon's Souls.

I disagree, the game is very rewarding if only because you really have to fight to get anywhere. It's like running face first in to a brick wall, but once you get in to it it get's really fun and rewarding when you start making progress and beating demons :)

I loved both the Otogi series and Demon's Souls even though I routinely got my ass kicked by black phantoms. I've been praying for an HD Otogi release for years since I no longer have an xbox.

Now THAT is a huge bitch! (the dog in pic 4... & the person who will quote to vehemently disagree and go on a nerd rage callout)

Dunno what is the connection between DS and Otogi, but have you been following El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron? The combat gameplay is somewhat similar to the Otogi series.

@ Sath )

DS already had Boss Battle music ... well, I guess you were too focussed on the battle to notice ;)

@ bleached )

I disagree, DS's game system is think, advance slowly and keep your cool even when faced with massive enemies, not trial&error.

Yes it had, but I wanted music in exploring as well, some dark mood ambient pieces while exploring would have been fine.
Was very very boring without it, hopefully this one has that.

No music while exploring please, just ambient sounds, some whispering in the dark.

Hot damn!!

Ambient music, enough low and high to be able to hear the sound FX and the moaning of the undead...etc.

No music at all, nothing.

Just you and the world around you in a dark forgoten place full of dark history and monsters in every corner, you will need balls of steel to conquer it.

Badass stuff!

You are saying that because you want Demons Souls so much, but considering you cant, you want Dark Souls to be a replica of Demons Souls so you can get it now that its coming to 360 as well LOL

Yes I said it LOL

But seriousy, it found it so damn boring and just depressing to play.
And dont give me that "use an ipod" nonsense, because if you have it in your ear then you cant hear the SFX of the enemies near you, stealth attacking behind a corner.

No, no music at all, nothing, only you and the darkness around you waiting to eat you.

Suck less. Everything about the game screams you should take your time, survey the situation, be tactical. It's not some casual hack-and-slash. Bring your twitch game.

You need to bring your skills to this game.

Pure ol school design right here, CoD and no skilled gamers need not apply!
