after all the impressions from press about lack of tension/horror/excitement my anticipation has kind of fallen off the face of the planet. i like elements of it, mainly the stealth portions. but the animations looks absolutely abysmal. every single action looks like a clunky, transitionless loop.
Well like i said, i want to see more gameplay before i can say yay or nay. Dont really give a toss about what the mainstream press say though, as i usually do not agree much with the bigwigs of game reviewing.

generally, neither do i. but when was the last time you read/heard a massively negative PREVIEW of a game. they're almost always glowing, even for the shitty games everyone knows are getting 5/10 come release. the fact this is getting panned at this point is pretty damning. but maybe the demo's were just horrible? who knows.
I wasn't too impressed with the most recent trailer of it, that's for sure. Shoddy visuals and animations straight out of the PSX era (Yes, I understand that might sound like hyperbole, but it really isn't). This, mixed with the aura of RE4 and I'm afraid this just might turn out to be an ambitious but flawed attempt at a return to a genre that has long come to pass. The survival horror genre will see a resurgence, but it won't be in the traditional manner. It'll be in the form of VR.
