New trailer of Crysis 2

New trailer of Crysis 2

Crytek has released a new gameplay trailer of Crysis 2 with some sequences we saw at E3 and bear in mind that it was the PC version. The game's release is now set to fall 2010.

this.

when they do the gameplay demo of this trailer, after battling the alien ED-209, the blueish mortar hits the skyscrapper and the glass ceiling lights up... breathtaking.

Best looking game to date (graphically not art wise) confirmed.....

Awesome! Now to save up money to buy a pc that'll be able to run that shit on medium settings :-)

Can't wait to buy it, day 1!

Played the Crysis 1 and Warhead many times on my PC just for fun, this will probably be no exception.

They should do a new PC-trailer and not these videos with console-graphics. They are pretty good of course, but I can only imagine how fantastic it will look on PC.

I'm sorry to burst your bubble but this trailer only shows some PC footage, just like the demo they made at the conference. I don't think the console versions will ever look this nice.

Well I doubt it'll be as hungry for resources as first one was, but definitely a good rig will be an advantage :) Console versions look good....but...

It is not. Don't believe everything you read. The Xbox version was really not smooth back at E3 and the demo they showed during the conference was made on PC. If you think consoles can render the textures you see in the trailer, you're a bit too optimistic. :)

You do not that PC games also use the 360 controller and that it's no wonder the 360 buttons appear on screen here, do you?

Expect the console version to look a bit better than this :

because it must have been an early built but again, no way the textures will be as detailed as what is shown in the trailer.

I am sad to hear this, since it's like seeing the pretty sister yet having to settle for her okay sister. Oh well.

*cough* God of war 3 *cough*

Thats pretty funny if it was the pc version they demo'd at E3. All i heard from the pc elitests was how the visuals looked "dumbed down" for consoles, how it doesnt look as good as Crysis, hows theres no shadows ect ect
Commented on 2010-06-26 12:53:55
In no way does this look like something that consoles can't handle. The doubters must be crazy, because I see nothing special about the textures, and the graphics don't look like "OMG ONLY PC COULD DO THIS!!!!"

The game looks fun to me, but graphically it's not out of this world or anything. I like the cinematic feel and the things going on screen. As far as textures, lighting, etc, I really don't think this looks any better than things I've seen in games already on consoles. I think people have that Crysis mentality where they think that NOTHING will be able to run it like the other ones. Sure it will look 10 times better on a PC with maxed out settings, but unless they just don't know how to optimize code like other devs, this seems totally doable on consoles to me.

Are you comparing a FPS with destructible scenery and an impressive physics engine with a game where the camera angles cannot be controlled by the player and where the physics engine is very limited?

Do Want !

zomfg - you are right at this point and I think Cryrek's tech demo on both consoles proved it. Large areas look abit empty, but everything else is just fine.

Driftwood - what about Halo Reach? :)

i'm simply calling out your doubting that consoles can render textures like shown in this trailer. Theres ofcourse allowences offered to both games..both games are different genres. GoW3 has huge scale to levels, and no doubt more people on screen at a given time. Crysis 2 has the destructible scenery and physics like you said. But we're talking the possiblity of the same quality textures on console correct? not comparing what the engines are doing underneth whilst bringing those textures.

I'll try not to laugh. :)

I will give them the benefit of the doubt, but Bungie has done a very poor job graphics-wise this gen so I would not hold my breath and hope for Crysis-like visuals.

Bleachedsmiles: it was obvious that I was talking about such textures in such a game (a FPS like Crysis 2 that is).

obviously

Yeah we're talking about THIS VIDEO, which I did not see any kind of uber-physics... or uber-graphics.... so the notion that this trailer could not be a console trailer is wrong in my opinion.

It may not be a console trailer, but I'm just saying that it's not on a level that couldn't be.

KORNdog @crookedmind: there may be rare cases, but generally, no. Case in point, BF4. Player count was different, framerate was different. It wouldn't work. (3 Hours ago)
