NFS Pro Street: Grip Racing

Electronic Arts keeps trying to hype us about Need For Speed ProStreet, and amazingly enough it's actually working for me. It's the first time in years I'm actually eager to play a game from the NFS series.

This looks cool. I thought the first one for the 360 was fun, so maybe I'll pick this up.

I never knew David Tennant made video games... You learn something new everyday =)

Other than that, looks like a good game. I'll probably just get it when it's like £10 or something (I'm a cheapskate, hoora)

The smoke is cool. However where it's small puffs, it looks rather a lot like you're dropping balls of cotton wool wherever you go.

The smoke is awesome, and technically amazing, but I agree, it looks too light and fluffy.

Where as old game smoke looked like 'video game smoke' very obviously fake, this looks like CG smoke, something you'd see in a pixar film or something.

It's what I was thinking. If you try and make something totally realistic, you have to do it right. I find although the smoke is awesome and a total step forwards on everything else, it looks more fake because of it.

Whereas floaty roundish balls of translucent smoke in Forza end up lookin better.

It's like the faces in Mass Effect, awsome, but they look weird and not quite human.

Still, I'm excited about a NFS game coming out, for the first time since NFS 3 on the PS 1!

    MrWhite The game doesn't have to rely on cheap jump scares normally associated with traditional game design in VR. The immersion just does it automatically. It's something a normal TV can't compete with. (3 minutes ago)
