NFS Pro Street: Grip Racing

NFS Pro Street: Grip Racing

Electronic Arts keeps trying to hype us about Need For Speed ProStreet, and amazingly enough it's actually working for me. It's the first time in years I'm actually eager to play a game from the NFS series.

This looks cool. I thought the first one for the 360 was fun, so maybe I'll pick this up.

I never knew David Tennant made video games... You learn something new everyday =)

Other than that, looks like a good game. I'll probably just get it when it's like £10 or something (I'm a cheapskate, hoora)

Thanks, saw this a while ago, it also peaked my interest in this game!

The smoke is cool. However where it's small puffs, it looks rather a lot like you're dropping balls of cotton wool wherever you go.

The smoke is awesome, and technically amazing, but I agree, it looks too light and fluffy.

Where as old game smoke looked like 'video game smoke' very obviously fake, this looks like CG smoke, something you'd see in a pixar film or something.

It's what I was thinking. If you try and make something totally realistic, you have to do it right. I find although the smoke is awesome and a total step forwards on everything else, it looks more fake because of it.

Whereas floaty roundish balls of translucent smoke in Forza end up lookin better.

It's like the faces in Mass Effect, awsome, but they look weird and not quite human.

Still, I'm excited about a NFS game coming out, for the first time since NFS 3 on the PS 1!

alimokrane On a different subject all together. if only the entire world acted like this: [url] (6 minutes ago)
  • Tiz
Tiz Gears 4 is a refinement of the Gears 3 formula, which is great if you loved Gears 3. @alimokrane: I'm partial to the Embar & Overkill. (20 minutes ago)
  • alimokrane
alimokrane @Phaethon360: I agree on the enemy variety, definataly but I simply love the little tricks and bits they added here and there. Best weapon has to be the DropShot. Ball of fun! (22 minutes ago)
  • Tiz
Tiz But with regards to variety, do you mean enemy variety? Because I agree. That is spot on. Gears 3 had so many different Locust & Lambent classes which kept Horde rounds fresh, Gears 4 does not. (42 minutes ago)
  • Tiz
Tiz PhaeKO outta nowhere. Rod said he wanted to do it right before doing it different and 343 were the blueprint for this which is why a lot of the Gears community still remains intact. (45 minutes ago)
  • Phaethon360
Phaethon360 That and the variety just isn't there. So many different enemy and weapon types in Gears 2, which was the high point of the series for me. Gears 3 wasn't bad but it was on the downswing for me. (50 minutes ago)
  • Phaethon360
Phaethon360 I really dislike Gears 4. Horde 3.0 was a disappointment, and the mechanics haven't changed much since Gears 1. After playing the remake so soon it just felt like more of the same. (51 minutes ago)
