NFS ProStreet demo video

NFS ProStreet demo video

I guess most of you guys already know it, but I guess it's still nice to say it again. The demo of Need For Speed ProStreet is now available on Xbox Live, and our friend DjMizuhara uploaded this nice video showing most of what you can do with it.

The demo was pretty lame. Only two races and two preset cars. Well, that's £40 off my Christmas list.

Waaaait wait wait. Let me get this straight: The demo only lets you do two races with only two cars and that right there is how you somehow decided to skip it? How does that even correlate?? That's about what you get to play with most racing demos. What do you expect, half the game to be available?

Personally, the game has gone up in my opinions.
The screenshots did not look believeable but the in game the graphics are very good.
Nice effects and very few jaggies.
Gameplay was pretty good, very rather easy. Hard to tell what the finished product will be like but I was pretty impressived. Looks like a nice fun game to see me through Xmas.

Strange that nobody likes the demo, but i do like it, i think that the controls are good and more like in the old NFS games when they where better, damage is also nice and i like that there are driving assistances as abs, tc, stability which you can turn off, looks like EA also completly copyed the driving line from Forza.

Strange i didn't get off track not a single time and i think that the opponents where way too slow.

I'm so dissapointed, some one stole the frame rate from a NFS game again :(

As I played the demo the first time, I didn't like it too. But as soon as i turned the "difficulty" to king, I loved it. Great game! Definitely one of the best nfs ever.

The whole overall feel is what turned me off. I'll just wait for Burnout

It wasnt all bad, but the framerate did suffer. Going through the tunnel in event 2 was where I noticed the framedrops the most (which is a rather odd place since the game draws very little detail - Must be some odd culling that hasn't been fixed).

The first event was rather good all in all and as long as you stay on the tarmac the physics are nice enough... once you go outside.... hmm.

Most likely a second hand buy from me, but I would really like the framedrops to go away.

The demo was ok, i wonder how the other cars handle.

Same here, I thought they really went noob-friendly with the AI difficulty. Had to stay back the next time I played so I could enjoy their stupidity and crashing.

Actually this one was the best looking, best running and best handling of the so called next-gen NFS iterations.

Not a buy since NFS hasnt been worth a dime since the first The Need For Speed (which actually tried to be a simulation at the time), but props for the superb visuals and upgraded handling (in the second race).

The speed race was some twitchy driving though, you could move the stick a maximum of two millimeters. Crazy twitchy but more than manageable. Not racing but more like flying a bullet through a forest.

Went with KING from the get-go knowing that NFS = uber arcade.

To sum up my ramble:
-Superb graphics with great AA and smoke effects
-Steady 30fps framerate with only a few EA-stutters here and there
-Satisfactory heavy handling in the lap race. Cars have wheels in each corner now!
-Realistic-ish crashes are back after 10+ years!

Don't see a reason to get this when PGR 4 is out. Actually the best racing game I played in a looong time.

Amazing graphics, needs better gameplay.

Hmm all of these negative comments are spurring my interest. I havn't liked a NFS game since the old days, but I might just try this one out since they've obviously changed something.

Terrible gameplay.

Didnt like the demo...

Graphics are cool, specially the smoke at the beggining from the tires :)

But gameplay felt horrible.

Terrible, terrible demo. Terrible handling (even on King is feels slow and unresponsive), terrible camera (third person is unusable, on-hood and first-person don't accurately portray the location of the car), terrible visual fidelity (choppy, unstable framerate, serious issues with LOD, no AF, aliasing everywhere). The only two good things I have to say about it are tire smoke and at least the lighting is half-decent, though it pales in comparison to PGR4, Forza, GT5, and even the old NFS games. Christ, EA, I don't know if you're trying to make it a bad game or what, but it seems to be working really well.

I liked the demo. It was abit to easy but I guess they had to for the demo.

I loved the smoke effects they look cool and overall the graphics look really nice!
Framerate issues? What issues I didnt notice any! It was running smooth for me the few races I played!
