First 10 minutes PC Xbox 360 PS3

After covering the Xbox 360 release a few months ago, it is now the turn of the PC version of Binary Domain to deserve our attention. As you will see, the boost in antialiasing and framerate is more than welcome here, and though it is clearly not to compete with the likes of Witcher 2 and Crysis, the game still looks rather good. Here are a bunch of homemade videos in 1080p and 60 fps, which will hopefully convince you to give Toshihiro Nagoshi's title a try. Considering it will probably be long before SEGA publish another third person shooter with a western audience in mind, our advice is not to miss it as there will most certainly be no sequel to it.

I also recommend that people give this a try.

It's a straight up average shooter, but the universe is fleshed out, and even the characters manage to shine about their stereotypes just a bit.

The game sold poorly so there probably won't be a sequel, but I hope people recognize Nagoshi as possibly the only Japanese developer who took an honest dive into learning from western development (I'd call even Vanquish half-hearted), and managed to marry it with some Japanese style.

Crap performance, game @ 60fps is totally broken and unplayable... just look at that soap opera kind of garbage! /hobbittroll.

Better than ever.

Such a shame the game didn't sell better. I really enjoyed it. The thing with earning your characters trust was simple but still made you wanna move forward in the story and care about the characters. I hope this game will encourage other Japanese developers to make more games for the western market.

This game is so sweet. It feels really satisfying to shoot those robots, when parts are flying everywhere. I can't wait to play some more today :D

Played it , and on my 5970 the performance is horrible.
When shooting robots frame rate goes beneath 30, which is unacceptable.
Mouse shooting feels weird and voice commands ...... don't even get me started.

Why would it encourage them if the game sold poorly?

I'm pretty sure Capcom's whole shtick this generation has been to develop games for a more western (or global) audience, and they're not alone. I'm not sure if it's been entirely unsuccessful either.

This was really sweet surprise, when I tried the demo. Not the latest technology graphics but gameplay is cool.

Wouldn't really blame amd for performance. Game is really nothing special to look at, got it on steam. Uncharted 1,2,3 all piss over it graphics wise. lol.

That's the trouble with alot of these games, none of them push the graphics, that's why people still harp on about crysis 1 tech demo that it was.

Gameplay wise, it's ok. Worth a go.

Plays abit like gears with robots, but missing that awful running anim that gears has. thankgod.

omg, people still use Uncharted as a means to put down every other game.

Hey, console gamers! you now have your Crysis! Like it while it lasts because it won't last forever!

It's funny that you're mentioning Uncharted when Binary Domain's shooting mechanics are way better than Naughty Dog's title. And before you accuse me of trolling, remember I am a huge fan of the franchise and I love all three of them (I should even say four since I even liked Golden Abyss more than Deception). Good games are not always about the graphics.

this game was pretty good. visually it's pretty shite, and it runs on about 2 hours too long. but for those first 3-4 hours it's a lot of fun. the shooting feels solid, and the impacts are better then most third person shooters out there. worth playing, probably not worth buying.

played the demo on steam and didn't like it at all. on the other hand the PS3 demo controlled well but the frame rate was all over the place.

This is basically a poor man's Gears of War. I am not going to buy it anytime soon

I would still say that the game is a successful attempt for a japanese developer to make a game that works for the western market. So I hope that even if it did not sell well, other developers will still be inspired by it.

yea inspired by a Gears of War clone *insert eye rolling emotionicon here*

Japanese developers have really fallen from grace. I can't believe shader technology lead to their demise....

Square Enix - total crap this gen, way too much focus on handhelds with mediocre console out from Japan (Eidos has been good though)
Kojima Productions - last gen they gave us one hit after another on the PS2 (MGS2, MGS3, ZOE2) but so far they have only released MGS4 which sucked ass and MGS Raiden was handed to another developer
Sony Japan - The Ape Escape games were brilliant but now it seems the studio has been shut down. That ICO guy/team lost his mind and left the company....

Same goes for all the other companies in Japan, I have zero expectations from them.

Pretty sure the only two Jap PS3 games I own are Final Fantasy XIII (lol terrible) and Valkyria Chronicles (boring)

After playing the demo for this Sega is finally once and for all dead to me. I can't believe this company was once responsible for games like Panzer Dragoon and Shenmue. Even their Xbox stuff was good.
