This expansion does look very in depth and well thought out but at 2400 mp, (which i believe is 30$?), i just don't think that paying for half of the original game is justified by "25hrs" of gameplay.

Great interview.

But im not too keen on downloading a 1+gig expansion...what about that retail version? how difficult/hard can it be?!

And can we use those new weapons and spells in Cyrodiil?

Yep yep, they are working on Fallout 3, or have been for a quite a while. We will see new information this year of it that's sure. But for oblivion, I haven't just gotten interested in it, don't know why.

Great interview.
Although I really would have liked to something about monster levels. Will the monsters in shivering isles simply adjust to the player characters level again?

I don't like this at all. It find it essential that (in rpgs) you sometimes have to evade some monsters while you can kill others with a single strike. That's the way it was in Gothic 2 and it really makes a great atmosphere.
In contrast, in oblivion, you encounter wolves on the road when you begin and when you are level 127 you encounter giant were dragons all over the place (or something like that).
Or the bandits on the road wear full plate armors and have magic swords.

Well, apart from that, oblivion is one of the greatest games ever, of course.

Price is insane...

How big it will be? 1+ GB?

I dont see why you guys are bitching about the price expansion packs are usually always $30 and to say that 25hrs for $30 isnt enough is just dumb most $60 games wont even give you that much

Yeah, but if it's 25hrs in the same way Knights of the Nine was 10 - 20 hours, it will be about 5 :(

I romped through Knights in about 2 hours. Hopefully there are lots of random things to do, not just the main quest.

true,

but by the time PS3 owners have played through the main game fully, Fallout 3 will be on the horizon.

To my understanding, you will be able to use all the items and weapons back in the main game. I'm actually looking forward to finding the sword that levels up as you use it.

About the game

What's up?

GriftGFX And Hawaii probably won't do anything either because banning games in Hawaii would be a seriously shitty thing for local consumers and not a whole lot of other people. (10 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Thankfully Belgium isn't going to do anything without convincing the rest of Europe. (11 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX I hope this falls completely apart based on the (obvious) broadness of the issues they're dealing with and the implications it would have downstream. This is just silly. (11 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX What's a "perk"? This is a difficult thing to legislate fairly. You're basically asking the government to get into game design. Phew. (12 minutes ago)
  • droezelke
droezelke @GriftGFX: no, it's an attack on lootboxes with perks. That is also what Belgium is talking about. (15 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX @droezelke: The problem is: this isn't about "the EA model" it's a flat attack on "loot boxes", and that will harm consumers and good games. (19 minutes ago)
  • droezelke
droezelke @GriftGFX: I have been talking about the EA model the while time. And no, I'll never buy an EA game again if they don't become consumer friendly (21 minutes ago)
