Xbox 360

Small japanese developer Success corp. published today first screenies of their debut Xbox360 title; Operation Darkness. Game seems to be some sort of SRPG set in WW2, bit strange combination maybe. Operation Darkness will be released this winter in Japan.

Wow, that's what I call a good idea! WWII and Rpg, brilliant!

Looks turn based, which isn't a bad thing.

Based on these pics i dont think theyll have any success with this game (Haha success, do you get it... =P?).

The lack of lightning alone makes it look bad. And its supposed to release in a few months too.

Cant comment on the gameplay tho.

Ah if it was a normal RPG I'd probably like it. (Menu-based combat style in a WW2 setting, but then also with magic and special moves and like that :P)

Reminds me of Xenosaga's battle system. Not a bad thing if you ask me. Also the fact its set in WW2 definantly gives it a unique presence. I may pick it up when it comes out.

after seeing how Bullet Witch did a complete 180 for the better in a couple of months, im not gona totally throw this one out. Yet, I highly doubt they could pull off a bullet witch with this one.

Well, these these are only the first screens of this game, so I wouldn't criticize it just yet. It's an interesting concept, though.

All bases covered, and in future what ever happens you can honestly say "I told you so".

Never judge a rpg by it's cover. The best rpg games hide behind ugly graphics (well not ALL the best games, but it was more dramatic that way). thumbs up!

edit: sorry, i'm cranky when I haven't eaten well ;/

I'm with Jolli on this one, the idea is just really bad, has nothing to do with the graphics. The character designs are pretty bad as well, especially the female character(the miniskirt looks rediculous).

Wow I didnt know they had adolescent girl soldiers in A-line skirts in WW2. Those veterans were so lucky...

But seriously, the drawn art looks fabulous and I wish they had translated those into the 3d graphics.

Not only is this a bad idea but it's kind of slap in the face to veterans who served in WW2 on all fronts.

oh i missed the idea, can someone fill me in on that? or is it just "RPG in WW2". Probably has a plot too. But hey, I never judge a game before it comes out. Also this being "a slap in the face of veterans" is total bull. There has been like hundreds of games before this one to take the war in the game and lets face it, IT'S never a compliment to the real thing, it's just a game. You've probably noticed that the game isn't really trying to be that realistic either, unlike all other japanese RPGs (/sarcasm). Band of brothers did a good job describing the war tho, but it also lacked intensity of a war, or the waiting... imho.

bloodforge, u stress the fact that it has nothing to do with graphics but in the same comment you still press the ugly designs. Designs are a part of graphics you know? :P

In many genres the past has been a good setting, and including fantasy seems to sell. WWII have been coming out from every direction like the past 10years or so this far, I see no reason why this game couldn't make it too.

don't you reply jolli ;P

edit: oh yeah, it could be possibly that you want to see a futuristic fps, or a FF-clone...
