Our PC videos of F1 2013

Our PC videos of F1 2013

F1 2013 was released on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC last week and as usual, we captured a bunch of gameplay 1080p/60fps videos of the PC version of the game. The classic mode is the main new feature this year, which is why most of the footage we're shwing is focused on this mode. That being said, we've also added a video of the scenario mode.

The driving sensations with a racing wheel is really good again, especially with "Classic" vehicles with which we must adopt a different driving style compared to modern ones that are a little more permissive. Indeed, the cars of the eighties require more caution while accelerating and braking, otherwise you quickly head-to-tail or shoot straight blocking the wheels.

The videos were captured without any driving assists, manual transmission, with a Logitech G27. The AI was set to the fourth out of five difficulty levels.

Classic: Imola - Race
Classic: Jerez - Timetrial
Classic: Estoril - Race
Classic: Estoril - Replay

Looks good, but i still don't like the lighting as it makes the game look flat.

MY browser both firefox and now even chrome struggles to play vids here for some reason. I agree the gfx improvement looks subtle. I will pass this. Lighting needs lots of improvement

"The AI was set to the fourth out of five difficulty levels."

As in the fourth easiest? You were rarely hitting the apex on turns and still seemed to get past everyone very easily. Can you clarify?

There are five difficulty levels (if I correctly remember the names) : normal, intermediate, profesional, expert, legend.

The game was set on "expert" (or if that's not the right name, the fourth out of five, with five being the hardest), at least in the Estoril videos, in the Imola one, I can't remember if it was the third or fourth difficulty level.

In the scenario mode, you have three medals representing difficulty, but I don't know to which difficulty level it corresponds.

The Legend difficulty is quite tough, and as I did not have much time to practive and master the different Classic cars and tracks, I left it to Expert.

I think the difficulty is not well balanced, the Estoril race was easy despite the Expert difficulty, maybe it depends on the tracks/cars.

I see, thanks for clarifying.

My comparison of all four games - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tfs2GqmqLwA

2013 looks more like 2011, which is good in my opinion. More natural.

We shall see what they do with 2014. Should be a lot better, since they are targetting next-gen consoles as well.
