Our PC videos of The Division (beta)

Our PC videos of The Division (beta)

Tom Clancy's The Division is back once again, except this time it's on PC. Miguel managed to find time to capture some gameplay footage during his lunch break so we all should be thankful. The game runs very smoothly at 1440p with his recently aquired GTX 980 Ti, but he could only record some 1080p videos to maintain a steady framerate with Mirillis Action! All the videos were captured in 5.1, only one of them has already been uploaded.
Note: Chromatic aberrations have been deactivated in these videos.
Update: Second video added.
Update2: 2 videos added.

Hardware used to capture these videos:
- Intel i7 5930K @ 4.6 GHz
- Asus X99-Deluxe
- 16 GB DDR4 1600 MHz
- NVIDIA Gigabyte GTX 980 Ti G1 GAMING 6 GB @ 1492/7200 MHz
Capture software: Mirillis Action!

I guess the PS4 version is at least as good as the Xbox One version so I think it's safe to say that visually this game is beautiful but game is game so the rest is the most important, I think it will be a hit if the players don't go rogue all the time.

In Paris how much such a computer with that configuration cost?
Commented on 2016-01-29 17:49:24 In reply to JohnnyTempl
I bought most of the parts in January 2015 for 1200-1300€, I already had two 970s at that time, I just switched to a 980 Ti last week (700€) and sold my two 970 (for 530€).

So it's a 2000€ PC but that does not include the 700€ GSync screen, mouse, keyboard, Logitech Z906, ...

And prices did change, this PC would cost more than 2200€ now.

It would be a shame, if PS4 version would look worse than XB version. :-)

Is it possible to get rid of that HUD or parts of the HUD?

This, with gfx and max payne style gameplay mods, on Pascal GPU on 144hz 1440p IPS monitor ... a dream

Can we get videos with CA, so as to approximate/illustrate the look of the base game, at launch?

I don't get this game. I follow it for a long time and i still don't know if this game have SP campaign or is it all focus on multiplayer?

CA on PC is the exact same as on our console videos, and I don't like it ^^
So I wanted to show videos without it on PC to get a clearer image.

I understand, I just would like to see what the PC version looks like with it on. If you can't, that's okay. I don't expect my every request to be filled. :p Just would've liked to see it.

Awesome, thank you. Looks good on the PC.

I'm highly impressed with this game, very hard to criticize any element the graphics are outstanding (especially for consoles) considering its free roam (at least it seams free roam) highly detailed animated world feels more convincingly alive and real than any other game I've seen before the gameplay looks solid and even the music is excellent if I could criticize anything it would be the running animation can look a bit odd but human animation is extremely difficult and looks odd in almost all games.
I'm sure if this was tailered especially for high end PC's it could look much better, its obvious that the environmental detail, tessellation , textures real time lighting and draw distance aren't as good as they could have been on PC but so few people own high end PC's that it wouldn't make good business sense to put expensive resources into pleasing less than a few percent of gamers.

From what I played, it has missions/quests within the game (limited one mission now). It is also divided between neutral and free-for-all zones (dark zones or whatever), and there is no way of knowing if they'll keep the missions in the neutral zone (which is sort of like single player, only connected, heh). You can buy guns or find guns/items within the dark zone, but they're contaminated and must be extracted. You extract them, then when you want to leave you go to a quarantine. Rinse and repeat. Guns are also available to purchase in the neutral zone.

The issues I have are with the gun play, it's pretty weak in comparison to even the most unimpressive 3rd person shooter. It's very HBD, and has a reticle conefire system like Uncharted (as Drift pointed out on the stream).

Since you're only allowed into one region in the demo/beta, you can't determine what other aspects the game has besides a quite simple routine: searching for baddies, finding baddies, gathering loot, dealing with merchant inflation.

Overall I'm on the fence. It really plays like a variation of DAYZ, without the zombies or jumbled controls (though there is mouse sensitivity issues). The atmosphere and weather and graphics are nice and all, but it's a cake. You can give it all the eye candy you want, but if it tastes like shit, it's not good. And there is no way of knowing that at this point.

> Lastly, you don't need a *monster* rig to play this. I built this comp like 5 years ago and run it max without any issues.

From what I understand the beta is downgraded in terms of asset quality at the very least so apparantly th eres no way to get a good idea of the full release right now?

Thank you very much for disabling Chromatic Aberration. It's also great that there is no Motion Blur or Depth of Field (apart from cut scenes and HUD, that is).
Commented on 2016-01-30 10:15:46 In reply to vx2o
There is depth of field when you aim at something close to you and it looks very nice, even on consoles.

At what? 10 fps? Or in 800x600 resolution? On "max" this game is unable to sustain 60fps at 1080p resolution on overclocked 980Ti with overclocked i7-6700K.

Oh, I didn't use a preset. Either way, and like I give a shit, you don't need Nvidia's latest in SLi to run this game. Hell, vanityconcubine streamed and played with a 580 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=izZbZpL0Uho - from the same comp he was playing on.

So, I don't want to read anymore whiny bullshit from self-entitled kids needing to have MXAA at full blast in order to be satisfied. It's dumb and beside the point.
