Our PC videos of Trine 3 Early Access

Our PC videos of Trine 3 Early Access

Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power was released on Steam as an Early Access this week, here are some videos in 1080p and 60 frames per second. Unsurprisingly with Frozenbytes, the game looks absolutely gorgeous and we can't wait to see more content.
Note: as the game is still in development, there can be some stutter in the videos.

The Early Access version offers the first two playable levels and a physics sandbox map.

Why did this game need early access?
Why Early Access?

“Trine 3 is our first move towards 3D-gameplay in the Trine series, so we wanted to get in touch with our player-base in an early enough phase to collect feedback on the new gameplay features, so we can tweak those into the right direction. Early Access can hopefully provide us with lots of players willing to do this.”

I just got the early access version to secure the launch price.
But judging from the captures above it is already pretty solid.

Why did this game need early access? It's an established franchise. The studio doesn't need money from early access to make this game. This seems like 'let's get some money from the impatient fans before the game is finished'. That is not what early access is meant for.
Do you have access to their bank records? Don't be so sure about how much anyone may or may not need. I don't work for the developer (don't even know who they are TBH), but I know that just because you finished a game doesn't mean you're wearing a money hat. A lot of devs barely scrape by.

GriftGFX There's a lot less on the line playing online. Tokido finishing second at Evo has to hurt more than losing to someone online. (2 Hours ago)

Melmoth i think it's mostly online gaming people get insulting. easier to be rude from your own bedroom. I rarely see any inappropriate behaviour during live events like EVO (2 Hours ago)

GriftGFX And there's a lot of good. For a head-to-head competition scene, there's a lot of respect on hand. And bad apples aside, it's a pretty welcoming community (2 Hours ago)

GriftGFX I won't say that the FGC doesn't deserve the negative attention it gets, but I think it's a shame that it overshadows all of the good. (2 Hours ago)

GriftGFX @Melmoth: That's the thing I don't want taken away from this. The vast majority of top players are good sports. (2 Hours ago)
