Looks pretty decent for PS4 and for being COD. Pacing of the gameplay could be better

Err yeah, for a game that comes nowhere close to the visual complexity or scope of a PS4 game like Horizon Zero Dawn (even on standard PS4), it sure does look "pretty decent for PS4".

Gameplay, physics, animations all from a decade ago. Yep, that'll be another COD and 50 of your hard earned nuggets, please. Oh, but it's WW2...

If the zombie mode was sold separately for 10$ I'd consider, otherwise hell no.

This and Assassin's Creed Orgins will be the top two sellers this holiday season and this year. Watch.

Call of Duty will definitely chart in the top ten but it's not going to be the best selling game of the year. It's got to do a lot of legwork to catch up with stuff like Wildlands in a very short period of time. And the biggest hit of the year? PUBG, I imagine. It will outsell Call of Duty on any single platform this year.

If they changed the physics.. I'm not sure it would be Call of Duty anymore. This franchise isn't like Battlefield, where the developer has the scope and talent to reinvent the wheel every few sequels. Its continued popularity thrives on its familiarity. If it didn't FEEL like Call of Duty, would people still buy it every year?

See: TitanFall.

If there was ever more proof of what gaming has become: For mindless, fickle drones. This is the staggering truth, right here.

True though.

Anyone who has played Battlefield games knows that they're vastly different games sequel-to-sequel, despite all of the core games being developed by the same studio, and that they've started from scratch on many more occasions than Call of Duty. Battlefield 4 and Bad Company 2 are basically the only "direct sequels" they've ever made. That's not even getting into the phenomenal software technology they've created. Compared to Call of Duty, which managed to follow its formula even when they added exosuits, that difference is pretty damn clear. TitanFall is Call of Duty reinvented. It didn't go so well.

But you'd have to know one thing about multiplayer FPS games to know any of that, so I understand the confusion. I don't even play BF1, but it's more interesting than anything Call of Duty has done in many years. And it's just a much better product anymore.

None of these farmed out Call of Duty games will ever be great.

About the game

Melmoth @jmd749: OLED is king for watching movies, and especially if you sit off-center (9 Hours ago)
  • Melmoth
Melmoth @jmd749: FALD can be a bit hit and miss, depending on how many zones and how aggressive it's programmed to work. Like the Q8 that's got far fewer zones (causing glow around bright objects) (12 Hours ago)
  • jmd749
jmd749 I'm excited for you, that is a beast of a television, with far superior HDR performance than any OLED with minimal to no burn-in issues. :P (15 Hours ago)
  • jmd749
jmd749 When I got my OLED 2017 FALD panels were more expensive, it's good to see they've dropped in price. I'd probably have bought the same as you, cause tbf FALD with just under 500 zones is good for a 65" (15 Hours ago)
  • jmd749
jmd749 @Melmoth: 15ms latency is pretty good and 2K nits will make for some very good HDR viewing, though a higher electricity bill. :P Agreed, I play old games on my PC monitor to avoid burn in on my OLED. (15 Hours ago)

GriftGFX Most of the rough edges in BFV are around stuff like UI. The actual game is solid as hell. (20 Hours ago)

GriftGFX This is also the first Battlefield game that won't have expansions, which is something consumers asked for. (20 Hours ago)
